I've stuck to the same base colour throughout but changed the washes a few times - from army painter dip to army painter wash, and now my own 'magic wash'. I use an 'ultra matte' varnish as my final coat as well, which helps I think. Is money better spent on actual 'active' units, rather than what are basically markers? Is it better to spend time painting actual units? That sort of thinking is what's stopped me developing this idea further with my collection. I guess these fall into the 'nice to have, but not essential' category!James MacCraggshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10787914402966238993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391427662737871662.post-25893167758880752202017-01-13T07:12:23.872-06:002017-01-13T07:12:23.872-06:00Thanks Paul. Limbered guns is something ...Nice work there James! Limbered guns is something you don't see nearly enough on the tabletop! It's always a bit silly that the small diorama base with all the crew gets pulled around by a truck (and I'm guilty of that as well). Doing separate limbered gun bases is definitely a good idea! Looks so much better.Samulihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04768684644521312467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1391427662737871662.post-27416762783648464372017-01-12T23:29:19.472-06:002017-01-12T23:29:19.472-06:00Nice guns!
