Welcome to the Painting Challenge. Here you will find the fabulous, fevered work of miniature painters from around the world. While participants come from every ethnicity, gender, age and nationality, they have three things in common: they love miniatures, they enjoy a supportive community, and they want to set themselves against the Challenge. This site features the current year's event along with the archives of past Painting Challenges. Enjoy your visit and remember to come back soon.

Tamsin's Friday Flights of Fancy #11
"Good morning Lady, Gentlemen (and Ray). We are now entering the last few days of our voyage - we do hope so much that you have enjoyed your trip with Snowlord Airways. Flight AHPC X out of Challenge, Blogland is currently cruising at 53,678 points towards our target altitude of 64,308 points. By my calculations, that means that (including today) we need to average 1334 points per day to achieve our target altitude."
"Hang on a cotton-picking minute!" I hear you say. "(64,308-53,678)/7 is 1519 points per day!"
"And you would indeed have been correct. However, you clearly haven't seen Curt's update (the post before this) - we've been granted an extra 24 hours and will now finish on Friday 20 March at midnight CST. A further calculation shows that we just need to average 156 points per Challenger."
"So far, 23 of our passengers and crew have reached or exceeded their personal target altitudes, and another 18 are within 156 points of doing so."
"We are still having issues with pics having disappeared from posts when we go to do our minion stuff on them, whilst still appearing when you look at them yourselves. My previous advice seems to work sometimes, but not always. What I would now suggest, if you have an affected post, is to write a new post and insert the pics one at a time."
"In terms of today's entertainments (pics bug allowing), we have the following confirmed or potential skits:
IainW has Romans throwing stones
PhilH will be doing a wine tasting atop his Hill
RossM has some Brits pretending they are Romans
TeemuL is letting the (volcanic) dogs out
and if I can persuade another crew member to cover me for a few minutes, I hope to present a show of 1920s ladies' couture."
"Toodle-pip!"
