From PaulSS: A second batch of Napoleonic French (93 points)

I've completed another batch of Baccus 6mm Napoleonic French infantry over the past couple of weeks.

These three battalions represent the last of the Infantry in Greatcoats pack that I bought. Truth be told I thought there was only enough troops for six battalions in the pack so it was a pleasant surprise to be able to get a 7th battalion done in the mix.

I used four of the five command stands in the last batch, so there was only a single left for these three, so this battalion got that one and the other two battalions are just led by a mounted officer.

All three battalions are done as standard line infantry with a mix of different coloured greatcoats and shako covers. I'll be starting on some battalions in Bardin uniforms for the next batch.

Not only did I get bonus seven battalions out of the pack, there were enough bases to do another couple of companies for the start of a 4th unit, hopefully future batches will yield enough spares to complete this bonus unit!

I've also made a start on the light companies with eight bases done, these are in a mixture of greatcoats and Bardin uniforms.

Finally a couple of commanders to lead the brigades.

So in all it's 9 mounted and 167 food added for a total of 93 points.

TeemuL: Quite a varied entry, Paul. Your pack seems to be full of nice surprises, generating this nice and varied entry. Looking forward to your next entry.

From PaulSS: First batch of Napoleonic French (80 points)

With the Prussian production line rolling to an end it's time to make a start on some opponents for them, so this week I've mainly been cleaning up and priming, but still managed to roll out four battalions of French infantry by Baccus 6mm.

The first battalion represents a line battalion in greatcoats and with shako covers, I mainly used Stone Grey for these, but also add in a few coats and covers in Beige Brown, Neutral Grey and Mirage Blue to add a bit of variety.

A second battalion of line, again in greatcoats and shako covers.

The third battalion represent a unit of light infantry in greatcoats, how do you tell the difference? At this scale the lights have blue overall trousers on and the line have white!

And finally another battalion of light infantry in greatcoats.

All rather samey this post, but if I want to put together a French force, I'm going to need to get cracking on with those infantry battalions.

Finally, I was not happy with the way the flesh came out on the Josefina Lacosta that I painted last time, so I touched it up.

Four battalions each of 40 6mm figures will add 80pts to the total.

TeemuL: What a great variety you offer us, Paul! After a few weeks of 6mm Prussians you now give as a delightful change with your 6mm French. And some have white trousers and some have white! That's almost too much, but in the end more is more. :) Thank you for this entry and good to hear that the project is now up and running. I appreciate your touch up of Josefina, too, looks nice.

From PaulSS: Another draft of Prussians (98 points)

I woke up with the lurgy this weekend so the drive to paint with a cough and runny nose was somewhat curtailed, but the Prussian Production Line rolled on to the end*

The last two battalions of infantry, the first one representing a unit of Grenadiers.

All the figures in the post are from Baccus6mm while the bases are all a custom order from Warbases. I had magnet holes in the bases so that the small figures get no additional lift.

The second unit a battalion of reservists.

There were enough Landwehr skirmishers for another four bases, I did a couple of bases in blue coats with light blue facings and a couple in grey coats with red facing.

There were enough six pounders and an howitzer to complete a fifth battery of artillery.

The last few troops are another four artillery limbers.

*This represents the last few Prussians in the backlog, there are a few Landwehr infantry that could be used to add to Brigade command stands but I don't have any commanders to mount with them.

I hope to treat Teemu to a "not a 6mm Napoleonic post" this week, I have made a start but I'll have to see how I feel in the morning.

132 foot, 12 mounted, 12 horses, 4 guns and 4 vehicles will add another 96 points to my running total.

TeemuL: They look great as usual, Paul! I wonder what you have next, now that this project "finished." I hope you can handle the lergy as effortlessly as you have managed to paint this Prussian army. They are small, but they popup nicely and still don't look unreal. Well done! Two points for the flags, whether they are hand painted or not.
