From ArthurS: The Last Post. (30 points)

 Hoi

Arthur says:

"This will be my last real post for the Challenge this year! I have set myself a points limit of 75 points and with this entry I will reach that goal. I have enjoyed joining you all for this year's Challenge and hope to join next year too.

For my last post I have painted up a Whirlwind tank for my Powerwings Space marines. Pssst, don't let anyone hear it, but since my hobby budget is rather limited, Dad printed me the main tank hull on his  3D printer and we put a real GW rocket launcher set on top.

Apart from the Whirlwind I also would like to show you my first painted Blood Bowl figures. My team is the new Black Orcs team and here's one of my Black Orcs and a Goblin Shaman that can be used to summon down the Foot of Gork (or is it Mork?)  on the playing field.

I am mighty proud of the Shaman since I think I really made the mushrooms work very well. They were painted in the rainbow colours to provide extra magical energy.

Finally Dad also printed a scatter template and I painted it in my team colours as well. Now the vehicle (28mm) and the two figures (28mm) will net me another 30 points.

Thanks everyone for looking in  at my post!

Arthur

Those are all great, Arthur. It's been a pleasure having you taking part in your own right this year and a shame that this is your last entry. You've done very well, and we look forward to having you back with us next year.

From ArthurS: Born to be blue! (45 points)

 Hoi,

It is Arthur's turn today to get an entry in. I can't do anything myself as next week we will be getting new windows in pretty much all of the rooms in the house including my hobbyroom... Everything has to be put away safely and it feels like I am taken apart my soul and putting it in boxes.

Anyway the lad is less bothered and  has finished his Power Wings' Biker squad. I asked him what I should type alongside his pictures and he gave me a note saying:

"Good day, this is my newest piece of art (not a particularly humble chap is he?) These are the bikers for my own Space Marine Chapter the Power Wings. I do hope you like them. Greetings Arthur"

There's 3 Firstborn bikers as well as an assault bike. Since the Power Wings are supposed to be a Dark Angels successor chapter, I gave him two of my old Ravenwing torsos with special weapons and he painted them up.

While Arthur is trying to be more precise in his painting, he has some strange colour decissions: the figures were basecoated black, yet he decided to make the tires blue... We took the biker sergeant and only glued his hind wheel to the base and since it is movable he can do a proper wheelie accompanied by all the right sounds and noises of course.

These 4 mounted Marines should be good for 40 points.

Cheers Arthur and Sander

Those do look great, Arthur! However, you seem to have miscounted - there are five Marines on four bikes, so I'll treat that as four cavalry and one foot for scoring - 45 points for you!

From ArthurS: A Dynamic Duo! (10 points)

 Hoi,

As Arthur is only now learning to speak and read English, he's asked me to write his posts as usual. So over to the lad in, more or less his words:

"Hello Everybody, I am so happy to be allowed to join the Challenge again this year. I have upped my points target from 50 to 75 points, because I have taken to seriously building out my 40K Space Marines army. For this I have painted two characters for my own created Chapter the Power-Wings. These characters are the Chaptermaster with the workname: Taggie, (I know; don't ask...ed)  and a generic apothecary.

For Taggie's base I nicked one of Dad's Necromunda bases and tried to paint it a bit more gritty then usual, I hope you like them.

 Have a nice day! Arthur"

Well I really like the Lad is trying out new things like the base and he has tried to be more precise in his painting: i.e. not just splash a good dab of paint in the general direction of the intended place on the model but actually trying to "paint-within-the-lines" if that makes sense.

When we play a game with these I will most definitely post pictures here. Anyway these two 28mm chaps should gain Arthur 10 points and prevent his culling ;-)

Cheers Arthur and Sander

Welcome back to the Challenge, Arthur! It's been wonderful to see your painting skills progress over the past few years. A well-deserved 10 points for these two space marines!
