From JasperO: Convoy through the smoke (45 points)

I’ve had this resin Maultier sitting around for years - I believe it’s an Anyscale Model, but it’s a one-piece casting whereas the model Anyscale currently offers consists of three pieces, plus the tilt. Anyhoo… I’m still working on that some trucks for WSS and this qualifies. I filled it up with various bits and pieces from many sets, and added a Perry sitting German from their set for the SdKfz 7 for some extra interest.

I have built a Rubicon and a Warlord Games Opel Blitz as well, which left me with an extra towing hitch, which this model was lacking. So I added that, and I figured, since the triangular marker is up, it needed to have a trailer as well. As it happens, the Rubicon Flak30 comes with an optional ammunition trailer, so I suppose this Maultier belongs to a Flak Abteilung.

Finally, and unrelated to the above, I have some nicely 3D-printed smoke markers from Sabotag3D. I just based them and airbrushed them from dark grey to light grey. I suppose that, like trees, you never have enough smoke markers, so I’ll need more, but this seems like a good start.

Bit of a rambling blog… The deadlines are coming thick and fast these weeks, trying to catch up with Covid-related delays. The Maultier should be 25 points (including the passenger). Five more for the trailer? The smoke markers fill about a 3x3x3” box, so that’s 1/8th of 20 points? I’ll leave it up to the gentle mercies of the Minions…

From DaveD - Well who doesn't appreciate a half track truck . The trailor is a nice extra piece , and the smoke works well - i will make this a 45 pointer

From: AngusW - 28mm Burial Mounds - The Tomb - 25pts

I've had a good run during the AHPC of painting scatter for the table, we have here x3 graves from Any Scale Miniatures. I figure they'll fit almost any period so a handy piece of table fluff.

I'm not sure how to score these, 5pts for all three?

Burials x3 (5pts) + The Tomb (20pts)

AngusW - Wrecked 8th Army Trucks (40pts)

Whilst casting round for ideas for interesting scenery pieces for a desert table, I stumbled across these wrecked trucks from AnyScale Miniatures.

I don't like painting vehicles. I tend to get despondent half way though, but I'm fairly happy how these turned out.

Wrecked CMP F60L

Abandoned Bedford OYD

That should be another 40 points... Next up some Saxons I picked up at Battleground a couple of years ago.

KenR : 28mm Desert Transport (120 Points)

This is hopefully the first of three (yes three) entries this week, I have been off work and with the rest of the household out during the day I have managed to be rather productive, in fact, the way things are I might get a few more weeks of this output level. [well-done lad! Lee]

So for this entry, there is a rather large change of pace from the flouncy shirts and bright colours of the Italian Wars Project, we have gone all dull and boring and deserty! So boring it's not even a tank.

Needed for an upcoming game, before the end of the challenge, we have 6 x 28mm trucks from Anyscale Models. There are 3 CMP trucks and 3 Bedford's, I did one each of these for the Challenge last year and these 6 flesh them out so I have enough soft skinned goodies to transport 2 x Companies of Infantry in our Rules.

These are pretty basic fare, functional, who at the end of the day can get excited by a truck. Anyscale Models are an excellent source of low-cost vehicles, at 20 English Pounds a pop for most 28mm vehicles I am always reluctant to pay the same price for a tank as a soft skin. Well, Anyscale have solved that with their models, these are approx half price of a standard 28mm model so when you are buying in 8s like me that's a big difference, 80 or 160 pounds, you choose.

Detail is good if unspectacular and there is the odd minor defect but for the price they are well worth it. I have added some decals and hand painted the Division markings of the 2nd South African Infantry Division which are what my troops are.

6 x 28mm vehicles at 20 points a piece should be 120 points.

Don't worry there is some Italian Wars stuff coming 😉

Excellent vehicles mate. I've painted plenty of these myself, albeit at 6mm scale. These look really nice and the decals are the perfect finishing touch. The first of three today??? Promises promises!
