DarrellH Wrap Up

Hi Folks.

I was almost put off doing a wrap up as this year has turned out to be a very unproductive one, almost embarrassingly so. I have mentioned in previous posts about my state of mind and mental illness and this has certainly played in defusing my normally prolific work to a trickle. After two years of being practically housebound, I've realised that I will not safely be able to get back to the club and that has played it's part too. Very much "if I'm not going to play with them, why paint them?" syndrome.

I must mention the Late Roman Cataphract Varnishing Disaster too which after two months of prepping models for the challenge was a bit of a nail in the coffin.

But of course, my very state of mind is solid evidence of why I should paint. after a month or so of total inaction with the brush I finally managed two sessions over the last two days and that, well, that is a vast improvement.

Anyway, please forgive my self indulgence.

I managed two units (I'm not even going to count the points- suffice to say it's not quite the number I had planned! LOL)

I'm moving the studio around at the moment so it's impossible for me to do a group picture at present so I hope my single images will suffice?

I'm afraid that's it. Here's to hoping I can pull out those prepped Late Romans out of the box from which they were rapidly decanted for next year and put the varnishing disaster behind me LOL

Thanks to all the organisers for all their blood sweat and toil.
