From PaulSS: Middle Ring Adventures (Cybertron, Arrakis, LV426) (85 points)

Falling through the Great Abyssal we alight at Cybertron where a couple of maintenance droids immediately start their task on preparing the ship for departure. Towering over them a bounty hunter droid scans the disembarking passengers for his mark.

Fortunately we are not staying on Cybertron and immediately catch the next shuttle to our arranged meeting with The Client on Nevarro.

There is certainly something Machiavellian about The Clients motives, he's offering far too much for far too little, this is not going to be as easy as it initially appears.

Onwards to LV432 and our final destination of this post.

Moff Gideon,  Ra's al Ghul, Gus Fring  and many others, whenever Giancarlo Esposito joins a series you can be sure that things are going to go really badly for our hero. It was a really, really bad idea even coming here and I'll be lucky to get out intact!

All the figures are 3D prints and were gifted to me by my good friend Drew.

Three Star Wars: Legion figures at 7pts each and a couple of smaller droids are likely worth two per piece is 25 points, adding in three location bonuses will add 85 points to the board for me.

American Civil War Duel Totalizer: 87 foot (504pts)

Napoleonic Duel Totalizer: 8 foot, 2 mounted (100pts)

***

Wow, these 3D prints all look amazing, and the brushwork is fabulous. It all looks incredible - not a surprise, given your proven brush skills, but I am particularly drawn to the "fizzy" look you managed for Moff Gideon's "Dark Sabre". Something about that weapon that seemed a little off/different from the other light sabre-type weapons seen in the setting. I get that same feeling looking at your finished figure. Very well done. I have no doubt the other Star Wars fans in The Challenge will be along to request possible sources for these lovely sculpts...and I will be watching for the answers!

Now...60 points of bonus points on 25 points worth of painting? I also have no doubt "The Client" will be in touch for advice on tax returns...

  1. @Greg thank you.
I thought for a while about how to do the Dark Sabre and after buggering it up the first time repainted it black and then added a harsh white highlight along the edges and some 'interference' along the blade,
LMK if you need help with your tax returns ;)

    1. So you made the blade black? My mind swears it is dark purple...no doubt a side effect of the show in my head...again, well done...

    2. Cheers Greg, maybe a black-purple with a lilac highlight would have worked

  8. Great job Paul! Do you happen to know which company makes the 3D sculpts? Would love to get my hands on the same ones.

  9. The liner has such a wonderful morose evil-ness about him. I like the rich colours of his robes.

  12. Wonderful work Paul. The variation in the colour between the two types of droids is a nice touch.

  13. Spectacular work, Paul. I absolutely love the blue bounty hunter droid. Might he have been a Mad-Droid in a former life?
