SnowLord's Note: I'm going to be busy travelling for meetings tomorrow so I'm going to post some of Monday's entries early. This way you all have some eye candy to peruse over during your Monday coffee...
Ok here we have the remainder of the "Serenity City P.D" . These are a set of Copplestone Minatures which were gifted to me by my Secret Santa (an idea originally devised by our very own Ian Willey and organised by Cath) this year - good choice Santa.
The tough beat cops
The brothers Fran and Ray O'Shee (ok maybe he ain't so tough), Pat McKay, and Dan O'Donald (from one of my GxGrandparent who was a beat cop - often found in ale houses from his disciplinary record!)
So here is the parade -ready for duty - "Lets be careful out there"
I have also completed the Jazz Band set from Bob Murch Pulp Miniatues
Complete with front woman
add in another of the Bob Murch "Femme Fatale" set . This time it is "Wanda Midnight" all round good time girl..
So here is a shot of the the "employees" at Long Sally's
So 9 figures altogether - I need a stock up!!
From Curt:
Ah, a wonderful Pulp entry Dave! The coppers and Wanda are wonderful but, for me, the prize goes to the Jazz Band, especially that shot of them with their lovely front woman at the mike. Brilliant stuff.
Cracking work Dave! Loads of character and colour. I especially like how you highlight your dark blues...
ReplyDeleteIts the ANDREA COLOR blue set, which cab be very subtle. I do it first like that then matt varnish and then an extra highlight if need be - which these had
DeleteGreat stuff Dave. I love the spats you've painted on the double bass player :)
ReplyDeletefunny i alsmost did not notice them on the casting until near the end,,, cheers
DeleteStunning! I really love the band in particular.
ReplyDeleteits certainly different . cheers
DeleteThumping good work sir. With you and Tams leading the way I am getting dragged towards some 1920's gangster games this year. Curse you, I hate you both with nobs on so there. No returns!
ReplyDeletener ner .. dont care... just buy some gangsters.. you know you want to..
DeleteGlad you took it the way it was intended
DeleteClint - I think I mentioned before somewhere that I've got a load of Brigade Games gangsters (and cops) that you can have for a suitable donation towards the Salutesville Businessmen's Benevolent Fund. Just let me know if you are interested.
DeleteI may be interested Tams but I am not familiar with Brigade Models apart from what Tony does with Aeronef etc. And I don't think he does any gangsters so if you can put a link on your blog I would be grateful.
DeleteCling I have some STeve Barber stuff going spare it's more true 25mm ..so are a bit small to mix with these , but there is a bit of it going to good home for the price of the postage only...
DeleteClint - Brigade Games, not Brigade Models. They are smaller and more realistically proportioned than the Blue Moon, Dixon, Copplestone and Pulp Figures models.
DeleteThey'd probably fit well with the Steve Barber figures.

I have a mic of gangsters (including gun molls), cops and state troopers
Thank you both for that tremendous offer. I need to pass for now and get some terrain finished first. But I am really touched. Thank you.
DeleteSome outstanding work! I really like the Serenity cops but the band is pure eyecandy!
ReplyDeletethanks - glad you like em
DeleteFantastic painting work, and wonderful that blue colour!!!
ReplyDeletecheers Juan...
DeleteI think the Pulp stuff has become my favorite of the stuff you do. Somebody had to make sure that the Ale house was following all laws. ;)
ReplyDeleteIndeed... Someone has to keep an eye on things
DeleteGreat stuff Dave, the cops look awesome and I like the "tribute" to your beat cop ancestor. That police force has personality equal to any bunch of gangsters they are likely to encounter. All you need to round them our is an appropriate looking "Chief" and maybe some detectives. The band and ladies look great as well. Love this set.
ReplyDeleteI have a few figures I can use for detectives etc.. Yeah I am looking for a good Chief figure..cheers
Deletereally nice - the blue on the coppers is as good as the last lot. I'm becoming a big fan of flavour miniatures like the band too, like proper scenery they really set a table up superbly.
ReplyDeleteCheers.. Yes they do add something , and there is a good selection
DeleteLove them, great pulp action
ReplyDeleteIan
Cheers Ian
ReplyDeleteLovely work! I like the basing on the police officers, a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteDave I'm really inspired by seeing your Pulp entries. And not just a little intimidated by your Jazz Band. Oh God, I've got to paint mine up to your standard. HELP!!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff. You will be fine with them!

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, both individually and as a set of really characterful, beautifully painted figures.
ReplyDeleteCheers
DeleteThe boys in blue look grand, but he jazz band steals the show! The band and new acts are nicely done! ....so I'm going to assume that the police bar is completed now? ;)
ReplyDeleteYep I think it will be a good party!, cheers
