I gave these blue puttees just for variety
The one I forgot to photograph
Group shot of all the "Sudan Type" Brits. Not all painted for the challenge but 5 units of 10 men.
As a change of pace I painted this Zombie survivor from Studio Miniatures.
Marilyn Monroe with a chainsaw in the classic dress blowing up pose. Fantastic pose but the face is not quite right.
That gives me another 24 Brits and one film icon with a chainsaw - 125points

Super stuff Martin! You are cracking on with the Pith-Headed blokes, well done (love the blue puttees - very flash)! BTW, what rules are you using for these guys?
Yeah, I agree, the Marilyn pose is excellent, but the sculpting on the face is not there at all. Still, a very cool figure. The 'Sthill' logo is terrific. :)
125 points in the bag, Martin. Well done!
If not your best work it's certainly serviceable. I also like the blue putees. A nice change of pace. The face on Marilyn is terrible but you've made a good job of it. Nice work!
ReplyDeletecheers
DeleteA Marylin Monroe with chainsaw... well that gets my vote. The Colonials also look good as well. I think we need more colonials in the AHPC.
ReplyDeleteThanks, have loads more to paint
DeleteGood solid entry of Colonials and Marilyn well what can I say?

Deletegreat work on the colonials and arilyn is a fun looking figure
ReplyDeleteThanks, the straps were a massive pain
DeleteNice work Martin :)

DeleteI love the eclectic mix we sometimes get in challenge entries. Cracking stuff Martin.
ReplyDeleteCheers mate
Deletecheers Curt. I tend to use a personal tweak of IHMN, using each unit as a single character with officers having their own traits. Tried The men who would be Kings but didn't like them
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff all-round although Marylin's face is indeed a bit off. Oh well she can't be on her best every day now can she?
ReplyDeleteCheers, think she is supposed to be in battle rage, not quite right and my painting didn't help
ReplyDeleteVery nice job on these - those blue puttee boys will be the envy of their peers ;)

DeleteGreat Stuff Martin (as always) the Marilyn Monroe with a chainsaw made me chuckle a bit.
ReplyDeleteThanks, me also
DeleteNice white on the dress!
ReplyDeleteThanks, pleased with that bit
DeleteThe Brits are very well done. I think I can die content now that I have seen MM with a chainsaw. I wouldn't have rated her as the survivor of the Zed Apoc that I'd want to team up with until now ...
ReplyDeleteCheers. She is iconic although the image of her careering through a horde of zombies, skirts flying, with an out of control chainsaw is one that will live with me for a while
ReplyDeleteNice work on the troops. The Marilyn with chainsaw is a hoot.
ReplyDeletecheers
DeleteNice work on the lads, Martin! We seem awash with colonial troops! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like the blue puttees for many reasons, one being an excellent way to denote troop skill, everything else is gravy! ;)
thanks, I did think about a wider range of putee colours, green for the Rifles etc, but did the epaulettes instead
DeleteVery well done! I especially like Ms Monroe.
ReplyDeletethanks
Deletenice to see these arriving Martin
ReplyDeletecheers mate. off to paint something different now
DeleteOh, I like the Marilyn, Well Done!
ReplyDeleteCould either Curt or a minion label as a Sarah's Choice? Thank you
Perfectly fine work, Martin! I think these chaps definitely look the business. Very smart - and Marilyn looks almost as deadly as in the "Seven Year Itch" ;)
