These first figures are the second half of the Wargames Atlantic
Plastic foot knight boxset, so happy I have another box paint as
I really enjoyed painting these
Painted them up as William FitzGeoffrey de Mandeville retinue
For the banner I cut out a Norman banner for the shape
Then just painted the yellow and red on them like I did the figures
I got the patten off a flag from the barons wars range.
I know next to nothing about paint figures from this era so it’s all new to me
Not sure I’ll get to the next box before the challenge ends but you never know
Next up is the last of my Perry crusades minis
I have a few foot left but they were extras you know when you make a purchase
Get the boxes and think I didn’t order two of those, look back and go
Opps
A few French knights a part of a ongoing commission
Always just little bits come in every now and then
Lastly 12 archers from the Wargames Atlantic peasants boxset
Two of the minis were sent to me with their hand around the wrong way
So I painted the hand to look like it was done correctly
So this week we have
11 x 28mm cavalry @ 10pms each 110 pts
24 x 28mm @ 5pts each 120 pts
So total of 230 pts
From Millsy:
Another high quality batch of medieval goodness to fest our eyes on Kent! Wargames Atlantic must absolutely love you mate, every time you show off something you've painted it a free marketing bonanza and no mistake.
The Perry Miniatures stuff is also very nice and you've done them proud. Their horses have a very distinct look to them (not a bad thing, they're lovely) but you can clearly pick them out vs. other manufacturers.
230 more points it is. The way you can consistently produce that kind of number is impressive indeed!
Cheers,
Millsy

Lovely colours!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barks having a lot of fun with these
DeleteGreat choice of colours all round and I cannot but marvel at your productivity!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if its madness or just the fact that I do this nearly every week for the past 20 years
DeleteI really like these paint jobs - the normans are vibrant yet the colour choices are complimentary so they are not garish while the french have a fantastic tone to them.
ReplyDeleteapricate the comments and so glad you like them
DeleteExcellent work all around. I really enjoy the highlights of color on the figures. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThe quality and quantity you pump out is amazing. Love the medievals, looks to me that you know quite a lot about painting this era. However, faves are the earlier knights.
ReplyDeletethanks Peter the funny thing is i know next to nothing about this era, lots to learn that's for sure
DeleteBrilliant painting. Great color choices and very effective highlights.
ReplyDeletecheers Tom on the yellow I decided after last week ecw I needed to up my game and didn't use a wash just added another highlight and I'm more happy with it.
DeleteSuperb entry Kent, love the colours and they seem to pop. You're definitely a great advert for WA
ReplyDeletecheers, i better be a good advert as they have started sending boxes for free, 5 turned up which is cool but a lot of work on top of the commission and my own figures, after the challenge ends probably be another year before my figures come out again to be painted
DeleteSome rather tasty painting, Kent.
ReplyDeletethanks Ray
DeleteThey're all nice - but you do yellow as a colour so well.
ReplyDeletethankyou, I'm going to do a painting tutorial on it when I paint it next
ReplyDeleteI really like how you managed to paint the yellow and red on those first minis!
ReplyDeleteThanks Teemu, I really need to do a painting tutorial on them at some stage
