Planet of the Apes
I picked up these chimps from a bring and buy stall at Partizan this year in a 1£ bucket, they have a very Socialist/communist vibe about them, the chimp with the hammer also had a sickle but I removed that and intend to add a flag at some stage. I elected to paint them in worker blue clothing. They will join my Ape collection.
Major Tom
I also picked up this spaceman in the same box and opted for a orange suit for him, really happy with my colour selection. He will join my generic space figures.
Total 28mm Figures @ 5 points = 21 Figures
Total points 105 points
Squirrel 3 points (Dredd, Planet of the Apes, Spaceman)
Robots = 30

From Millsy:
This is a very cool collection Matt. The vibrant colours are spectacular! The Vestial Virgins have a definite Necromunda vibe going on and the Citi-Def are reminiscent of early 40K Cadians too. Nice work and 105 points added to your total.
Cheers,
Millsy

DeleteGreat work. Always loved Judge Dredd stuff.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Nacho Average Snax".... groan.
Cheers Tim, keep that one in mind
DeleteVery fun collection. Great vibrant colors. Well done.

DeleteA lot of fun stuff, but the best has to be those bots!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they could work for Not-Cho-Tek Cheez?
Thanks Greg, like the name for the nachos restaurant
DeleteWhat a great collection of painted figures. Dredd, apes and robots.
ReplyDeleteCheers Tim, my Dredd gangs are named after punk rock and glam rock bands and the towers after the name of the lead singer. I have started to paint the collection while I am on holidays in Australia for two months!

Matt
Looking great!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate
DeleteA very colourful collectoon of figures!
ReplyDeleteCheers Ray, going for the Glam punk rock look…… for more colourful gangs and several characters to come!
DeleteAs a big 2000AD fan from waaaaay back, I love these Matt!
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul, I have a lot of figures to paint from GW, Mongoose and Warlord, plus a few bits from other ranges that fit. My theme is is Punk Rock and Glam rock looks, plus a few other 70s and early 80s themes thrown in. Terrain will be the next big thing to build!
DeletePlanning on a participation sized game with three to five gangs, citi def and judges for CanCon next year.
Awesome Judge Dredd figures, love the bloc defense unit and the bots!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Cheers Iain, no Nacho takeaway name for me?
DeleteStriking work Matt
ReplyDeleteHow about "Nacho Cursed Earth"
Cheers Paul, like your idea!
DeleteNice work Matt! Those pink mohawks work surprisingly well with the red/ white color scheme
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, yes the colour match came off well
DeleteNice work Matt, there are some lovely quirky figures in there
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, they are certainly different from what I am used to painting and a nice change up. Been reading a few Dredd comics I received for Christmas to help me along!
DeleteJudge Dredd offers so many colourful and wacky options, and it seems like you have taken full advantage of that fact. Excellent work on all of these Cits.
ReplyDeleteCheers Stuart, I really like the early comics as it was my growing up period also, they had a heavy punk and glam punk vibe so that is what I am trying to capture with my collection now I have started in earnest to get it painted.
DeleteCheers
Matt
Those are a lot of fun, you've really captured the vibe.

DeleteAbsolutely love the judge dredd stuff, spot on!
ReplyDeleteCheers Jamie, having fun with it creating a back story for my blocks and sectors

Matt
A very colorful entry. I think the best is the Vestal Virgin with the shotgun. Your photo captures something about the facial expression on the figure that is very compelling.
ReplyDeleteCheers Robert, I wanted that casual “come at me punk “ look
DeleteCheers
Matt
Very eclectic mix! I'll avoid the dental bot
ReplyDeleteCheers Peter
