After a few unforeseen delays (like being in the middle of a Central American rain forest with lots of monkeys but limited connectivity) the votes have finally been tabulated for our second theme round: Toy Story!
Like many, I very much enjoyed reading the reminiscences of those who submitted for the round. Plastic dime-store cowboys-and-indians, dinosaurs and action figures were but a few toys that were presented for the theme. Many of the submissions had me spelunking the internet, reading about all manner of toys and games from the 70s 80s and 90s. Terrific stuff.

Tied for third place is Stephen's 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!' and Bill's 'Harness the Power of Dinosaurs!'
2nd place was tied as well, with Raul's 'Black Seas Galley & Gunboats' and Paul's 'Astronauts and Cosmonauts!'
And, last but not least, in first place, we have Kerry with his very impressive 'Somewhere in Spain'.
Fabulous work, Kerry!

Again, a big congratulations, to Stephen, Bill, Raul, Paul and Kerry! Also, a huge thank you to all those who submitted their creations for the theme round - it was great fun!

ReplyDeleteThank you Curt and the rest of you guys for your kind words. I've only been in the challenge for the past 4 years so the bonus round is a new one for me but its a great concept and distraction and I really enjoyed putting this together. There were some fantastic entries and I'm more than pleased to have topped the poll in illustrious company. Huge thanks to John at the War Library for his generous sponsorship
