From:BruceR, 28mm AWI Front Rank Scotts and support (70 points)

Welcome to another Wednesday submission.  No planets, no travel, just a few miniatures as life, work, guests challenged the Challenge.

Last week was Sauerkraut in the form of Hessian Grenadiers and this week some stalwart haggis lovers.  Once again expanding my AWI forces and more for the King in our Sharp Practice 2 saga.  I only had the 8 Front Rank Scotts in the lead pile and after finishing them have had to stop the itch to click and order more.  I'm sure it will happen at some point.  These eight are from Front Rank and again I love painting the bulkier figures as it makes for ease of painting and characterful faces.  I elected to go with campaign gear, without the kilt, as I went down the kilt road last year.  So here are a few more of the Kings own.

To support the King's men a little early artillery piece.  Again, Front Rank and I painted the only crew in coat in British colors as my friends are working on continental guns and the King needs his support.  The other three are in their work gear to service the gun.  The figures are great with the wheel barrel and the crewman opening the powder cask adding flavor to the figures.

On deck are some Norman archers for SAGA and some British FIW.  Gotta keep, keepin on.

That rounds out the week.  Hope everybody has had a productive and happy week.  Stay safe.

Hi Bruce - very nice work. I have to agree, there is something quite satisfying about the Front Rank castings, they are a real treat to paint and look just lovely once finished. It will be interesting to see what Gripping Beast does with all of those lovely castings now that their purchase seems to have been completed - allowing you to indulge your perfectly reasonable instincts to order just a few more figures.

  2. Nice Scots, and the artillerymen are a nice change from the customary unformed guys. Good show!

  3. Och, those are bonny wee Scots laddies, and the tartan over the one's shoulder is lovely, well done. Labouring gunner figures, very useful.
