These are the first appearance of the new Perry plastic British infanty - which give some real opportunity for different poses and conversions. Long term however the delicate bayonets I am sure will not survive contact with the "enemy" - mahdists or wargamers!.
"just pop over that hill lads and see if you can see anything...."
Someone tell "Admiral Douglas" he is going to need to warm the Machine Guns up!
MilesR: Dave - a nice thin red line - given all the sudanese you've painted you might need a few more redcoats...
Nice work last picture would be brown trouser time. Love you extra mile that you go with your pictures
ReplyDeletecheers. I have spare desk space so I like to set up some nice pics, glad you appreciate the effort!
DeleteLuckily they're already wearing brown trousers! ;)
ReplyDeleteNice redcoats Dave :)
Blast! James got in with a brown trouser comment while I was typing mine :)
Deleteneed to keep the putees tightly wrapped to keep it all in I think!
DeleteBut will brown trousers and tight puttees do Corporal Millsy out of a job? ;)
Delete... he will need an even bigger latrine when they empty all of it though..
DeleteOr maybe he could retrain as a laundryman? ;)
DeleteNice work. Really like that last picture!
ReplyDeletecheers... enjoyed setting them up
DeleteThey look great
ReplyDeletethanks Martin
DeleteLove those red coats, they look amazing.
ReplyDeleteI am so weary of things turning to plastic...stuff with bayonet is exhibit "A"...but well done, and I am looking forward to seeing this battalion. Assume it will be ready for next week...
cheers. Will the upside is the variety , I think they will end up needing more repairs than the metals over time
DeleteSpanking in red! Just as the British army should be. None of this hiding and camouflage rubbish let them see you and be afraid of you boys. Absolutely spanking in Red!
ReplyDeleteIndeed... a proper uniform!
DeleteA nice bit of colour Dave.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray
DeleteWow, those guys are BRIGHT when put in perspective with this project. Last pic: 'Speedbump'. Yeesh.
ReplyDeleteYep, I also did them with warm brown undercoat which has helped the red pop. Oh yes... but I think the horde may have more trouble with there close order mates...
DeleteGreat looking boys, that red is really punchy, love them
ReplyDeleteIan

DeleteGreat figures and great posing Dave! But the Gattlings Major Doherty, you're on your own.
ReplyDeletecheers Peter
DeleteTWO football pitches...
ReplyDeleteAnd still they come!

ReplyDeleteLovely crisp bright work.
