Ten more Warlord plastic Celts. |
More Celts. This one has a looted Roman helmet. |
These are the last of the stickers. I'm glad to see the back of those. |
I would be OK with a few more shirts but at least the detail on these is good.
Nine Celt medium Cavalry. |
Wargames Factory Celt cav. |
The Chieftain had a nice big cloak so I did some free hand on it. Nothing too fancy, but something to make him stand out. |
The entire unit from the rear. |
I like the standard bearer throwing his javelin. |
The Chieftain and standard bearer. |
From Curt:
Brilliant work Aaron. Again, I like how vibrant your paint style is. Many who do barbarian armies use 'the dip' to move through them faster, which I completely understand, but with no subsequent highlighting I find it often mutes and muddies the overall effect of their armies. Your's have a nice 'snap' to the colour. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps picking a couple more colours for your horses to break up the look of the force. Otherwise they look great.
Well done!
Really nice job it they really pop. I especially like that horseman's cloak.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Celts Aaron :)
ReplyDeleteThank you both. That's a good suggestion Curt. To be honest I'm only beginning to overcome my dislike of painting horses, so I've been sticking to one to try and work out how I want that to look. You're right though, it's time to branch out, especially before I get to my Rohan army.
ReplyDeleteMore Celts! Nice to see them (and you) getting ahead. (Ahem - see what I did there?).
ReplyDeleteI continue to admire your vibrant and colourful work. Bravo.
Damn! Totally missed this, so it's a good thing that I'm waiting orders! The trousers and leader's cloak are really good. I also like the scattered Roman equipment. Curt pointed out my only complaint. The horses blend in with the riders. Some deeper browns would sort it out though! Very clean brush work and a great looking force! I have quite a few WF troops in my collection and they do get a little soft in detail. Your WF Celts look very good!
