Yes I know more Zulus. This time no not hundreds, only 82. This is I hope enough to play the game I have planned (along with the ones painted previously in the challenge AND the ones done BEFORE the challenge even started.
Anyway they are a mix of New Line Designs and Pendraken miniatures, but mostly New Line Designs. They are all 10mm or 1/200th scale and should bring the force up to critical mass sufficient to play a game or two. Well that is the plan.
I have kept with my convention of mostly brown and white shields as they did make up the bulk of the tribe that did attack Rorkes Drift Station. But there are 5 small stands with all brown shields to represent the rifle armed Zulus, 1 stand (6 figures of white shield Zulus to finish of the unit shown earlier in the challenge and one small stand of Black shield and headdress Zulus to finish of that unit as well.
Yes Before anyone asks I do have more to paint, but I think not for a while as other projects are getting neglected. So my remaining Zulus will be left for now and I will get on with some more interesting projects. I am not saying I will not come back to these but rather that for now I have finished.
82 in all. at 10mm should be an additional 82 points. Nothing fancy just nearly 3 packs of Zulus finished based and ready to be put away.
MilesR: One of 2 posts from Clint today - another giant passel of Zulu's - really nicely done
Welcome to the Painting Challenge. Here you will find the fabulous, fevered work of miniature painters from around the world. While participants come from every ethnicity, gender, age and nationality, they have three things in common: they love miniatures, they enjoy a supportive community, and they want to set themselves against the Challenge. This site features the current year's event along with the archives of past Painting Challenges. Enjoy your visit and remember to come back soon.

Only 82 Zulus....?
ReplyDeleteGreat work Clint!
Thanks Greg. Yes only 82 this time.
Deletemore Zulu's - good stuff Clint.- soon be time for the group shot!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dave. I will do a group shot on my blog and then take a list of exactly how many more I need. But I think I am close to having sufficient to play a small game.
DeleteOnly 82? I'm disappointed ;)
ReplyDeleteNice work Clint :)
Thanks Tamsin. I was getting bored painting them and need a change.... maybe 6mm ACW?
Deletelovely although as Tamsin said only 82, they must be a scouting party
ReplyDeleteThank you Martin You are right it is not nearly enough. I still have a stack left, but want a change for a while.
DeleteHuh? Only 82 I guess your slacking a bit now?;-) Nice work!
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Thanks Christopher. What I need to really do now is 1) play a game, and 2) work out just how many more I need.
DeleteGreat looking Zulu's your stamina on this project has been outstanding. I do think you should just plough on and ignore other cough 6mm projects ;-)
ReplyDeleteIan
Thanks Ian. I know I need a break from these and am planning a break as well. As I type this I am in a 15mm WW2 mood, bet that mood changes very quickly!
DeleteWonderful work mate... Now I just need to resist the temptation of Zulu's in 6mm!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lee. Postie already has Zulus in 6mm I am told. SO resist like mad. If I knew what I know now I would not have even started. While there is little wrong with them they are boring to paint.
DeleteGreat Zulus Clint. The look very good in a block like that.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter Later this week I will do a group shot of them all on my blog..... I recon it will not look as impressive as it does in my imagination.
DeleteVery nice Clint. I'm looking forward to seeing the group shot of the whole mess of Zulus.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rod I will do a group shot on my own blog later this week so I can work out how many more I need. And I am sure It will be more.
DeleteVery nice, the shields work really well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jamie, I hope to get a game in quite soon.
DeleteGreat work Clint.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray.
DeleteNice stuff, Clint!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barks. I will need to step away from the Zulus for a few weeks.
Deletebetween Zulus and Madhists, there are a lot of threatening mobs with pointy stabby things running around here. These are lovely, I am in awe of your productivity.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michael. Productivity is slowing down. I will try to keep it up.
DeleteStill an impressive amount of warriors, Clint!
ReplyDeleteI second wanting to see a group shot. Armies on parade is a wonderful spectacle!
Thank you David I will do a group shot on my blog either Sunday or Friday. I hope there are enough to look spectacular. More importantly it will give me a clear idea of which units really need a few more. and It is better to know before I use them all up (I still have some left to paint).
DeleteYes, a wonderful junior-mob of Zulus! Well done Clint!
ReplyDeleteTHank you Curt. Wonderful I do not think I have been very workman like in the approach no frills just doing what is needed.
