From SarahHC: Sophia, Security Officer of Lady Sarah's Star Yacht (10 Points)

Hello Everyone!

Winter in Saskatchewan has turned out to be quite brutal … weeks of extreme cold and more snow than we’ve seen in years. On Sunday, this winter turned personal. I slipped/tripped on the back deck resulting in a broken wrist, an impressive black eye and 8 stitches under my eyebrow.

I look a fright!

More tragically, my modest painting contributions to this years AHPC have been brought to a screeching halt! I was hoping to complete three more of the Hagglethorn Hollow buildings before Challenge end.

However, I do have a couple of figures completed, one for today and another for the Challenge wrap-up!

Sophia, Security Officer aboard the Lady Sarah’s Star Yacht is a 3D print from the Space Pirate Collection from Print Minis that I found on MyMiniFactory.

I started painting her last week, was making excellent progress when tragedy struck… I dropped her, shattering her pistol and arm. I almost cried, then remembered that my in-house 3D print genie can just make me another. Thank you Curt😊

Sophia wears the dashing green and black livery of the Star Yachts Crew, accessorized with a blue tricorne. She also is an aficionado of big stompy black boots. This is a personal favourite colour combination.

Sophia sports a nifty recording device at her hip, bullet cartridges strapped on her leg, an impressive sword and a rather arcane looking pistol.

She is bad ass & dangerous if crossed. Perfect for keeping the peace amongst the varied passengers who may have imbibed too much from the ever-present bar trolley in the Star Yachts lounge.

Full disclosure … I painted about 90% of Sophia, but because of my broken wrist, Curt finished with some of the finer details, in particular her eye patch, some highlights on her flesh, clothing, and cleaned up some messy bits (I hardly did a thing. - ed).

Points wise
Sophia is a 54 mm figure and is worth 10 pts, but I’ll take off 2 points because I had help with the finishing details.

As mentioned previously, I have one more figure which I'll post in the final week.

Thanks for reading!
Battered and bruised, but not down
- Sarah😘

Sophia looks a charming member of your crew, but deadly along with it. As for the 2 points you deducted, I'm adding them right back - the alternative would be to award them to Curt!

  1. Ouch! Sort of a self portrait what with the eye patch covering the stitches!? Very nice brush work.

Thank you for adding back the 2 points … unexpected but very much appreciated ❤️

Sophia and the rest of the Star Yacht crew are indeed very charming but deadly when provoked.
Best to keep on the good side of those in green&black livery!

  6. she is just brilliant. Hope you are OK. If Curt doesn't behave this week threaten him with the RCMP. You have evidence, and he is obviously a secret Tartar

Curt is being a very attentive nurse-maid, but I do have very high expectations of the care I deserve😊
