Probably my final submission for this years event. As mentioned in previous posts we were planning to hold a big weekend Sharp Practice 2 game in April (proper Yarkshire Gamer size games :-)) set in the 18th Century on the fictional Indian Ocean island chain of the Woebetides. The event has now been postponed to September. These figures represent the Monkey Tribe that inhabit the Central Highlands. Three groups of 12 Tribesmen, two groups of 6 Skirmishers plus Leaders on the individual bases. The Tribesmen and Skirmishers are based using Warbases zombie bases and the Leaders are on bases from Supreme Littleness Designs. These are great as they have areas to write details such as leaders names.
The figures are from various sources including Warlord Games Natal Native Contingent plastic box set, Perrys Zulu plastic box set and a Wargames Factory Zulu set I got off eBay. Also mixed in are some Victrix Numidian bodies and Gripping Beast Arabs as well as bits from sprues from Warlord Games AWI and War of the Spanish Succession ranges. The idea was to make them look tribal without looking completely like Zulus. Shields are a mix from various sources, some Arab, some Zulu and some Ancient.
The Totem was an eBay purchase and will either be an objective for the enemy forces or a deployment point.
Crackin work Richard.
ReplyDeleteVery nice final submission Richard! Your Tribesmen look superb. It'd only have been nice if you'd included a summary of your total painted figures at the end so I didn't have to do all the math after a hard day at work ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry 😂😂 53 x 28mm plus 1 x 40mm (for the Monkey!!). 53 x 5 = 265 + 7 = 272 🐒🐵👍
DeleteThe Woebetide campaign sounds great! Love the tribesmen, but that woe be gone looking monkey token is just fantastic
ReplyDeleteImpressive work!
ReplyDeleteSplendid looking tribal mass! The kit bashing has come out really well!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
