From DallasE: Tauntauns and Riders for Star Wars Legion on Coruscant (48 points)

Coming in hot for the deadline with some last posts. First up here are two Star Wars: Legion Rebel tauntaun riders. These are awesome models and definitely a must for my Hoth project.

The two riders are lightly armed with blaster pistols, but I can see them coming in handy by riding around the Imperial flanks and lighting up a command squad or heavy blaster crew.

The models themselves are really well done too - with one tauntaun galloping forward and the other reined in with its rider taking a cross-body shot.

Painting was pretty easy too - the tauntauns were shaded up from Mechanicus Standard Grey up to light Corax White. The horns and faces were just tinted with Agrax Earthshade (faces and pads of the paws) and Agrax Earthshade/Reikland Fleshshade (horns).

The riders were done just like my horde of other Hoth Rebels - Rakarth Flesh for the caps and sleeves, Steel Legion Drab for the pants, Mournfang Brown/Skrag Brown for the vests, and XV-88 for the boots. The whole mess is washed with Agrax then highlighted back up.

There's some cool saddlery too - a couple tarps or something rolled up to ward off the cold.

I'm taking these lads over to Coruscant for the Good/Evil theme - of course Coruscant is the capital city of the Galactic Empire in the Star Wars universe, so these good guys from Star Wars should corral the points bonus nicely.

Points:

2x 40mm (?) mounted models = 28 points

Coruscant bonus = 20 points

One more post and that'll be it!

Oh man, these are so cool (literally)! Terrific work Dallas. I love the muted tones on their uniforms and tack, and you've done a great job on the snow as well. Really, they look like movie stills from the set of 'Empire'.

Great work!

  4. You had me at "Coming in hot" should have been Hoth of course but hey they look awesome either way. Oh and you know what they say on the temperature of the insides of a Taun-taun right? Yeah it's Luke-warm :-)

  6. Great work, Dallas! They really look menacing.

Also, in the Star Wars Legion rules, the Taun Tauns themselves hit like a ton of bricks in melee combat.
