From John M: Moorish Archers (40 Points)

Next up is a unit for my SAGA Mutatawwi'a Warband. Figures are pretty interchangeable for the 3 Moslem warbands in the SAGA Crescent and Cross ruleset. I have been able field 4 point units, but with the addition of this warrior unit I can now field a larger unit (6 points if I add a Dogs of War Mercenary unit). Once I paint 4 more of these bowmen, I will be able to add a point of Levy to the Saracen Warband also bring it up to 5 points.

The 8 figures are from Footsore Miniatures. Nice poses, minimal flash and now available from what I understand North America directly. I had previously painted a SAGA Skraeling Warlord as well as some the mounted King Arthur figure and some Saxon mounted warriors. Highly recommended.

I did consider painting them as individuals but ended up painted them as uniformed. I find it difficult to stray from a blue-white and red-white combinations for the Dark Ages. I like how they came out.

Well another 40 points, so maybe I will hit my goal after all. And in fact, I am hoping to have another submission this week.

ByronM:  Very nice figures, I have not seen them before but like them a lot.  The blue and while colour scheme really works well as well.  I keep hearing good things about SAGA and seeing cool different themes that people are doing.  Damn, another game that I am dragged into. :-)

  5. With the blue and white, they could pass for a unit of Moorish marines ... if there was such a thing. A nice unit.

  8. Lovely job on these guys, John - bold colour schemes really unify the unit. They also help sort out who's who on the tabletop!
