Two completed bases for my WW2 Belgian build. 

Commander, horses and Uhlan are FAA, the Chasseur Ardennais is Early War Miniatures 

The commander is FAA, radio operator is AB, the Chasseur, cavalryman and table are Early War Miniatures. 

20mm figures @ 4 points x 6 = 24 

20mm mounted x 1 = 8 

Total points 32

Hey Matt!

Wow, nicely done vignettes and impressive photography skills! I feel as though I'm looking at movie -stills. One can imagine the discussions between the commanders. I enjoy the slightly muted colour tones, and really nicely done details on the various packs/baggage on the horses.

From BobV: Yet more 18mm Napoleonics (375 Points)

 

Greetings all!

I'm pushing hard to complete the goal of painting all of my remaining 18mm Napoleonic lead. This week's entry of four battalions of French Ligne, two Battalions of British line and a unit of Portuguese Cacadore skirmishers finishes off all of my remaining infantry castings.

All of the castings are AB Miniatures 18mm. The flags are from Fighting 15's. Here are some closer shots of the French:

This week's points total: 

184 x 15mm foot at 2 Points = 368 Points

Sylvain: Lovely work this week again! The quality of the painted miniatures you produce and the constant energy you demonstrate week after week in finishing model is an inspiration. I will add 7 points for the flags and banners. Very impressive! 

From KentG: 18mm Westphalian AB miniatures unbased (108pts)

 For this post we have more of the 18mm AB miniatures painted as Westphalian's. AB's are so nice to paint they almost paint themselves. I am now in the final stretch of this commission.

first up we have ADC's took a bit to find the right information

 on these and I'm still not quite sure I got it perfectly right

I used the same blue I use for my 28mm French which I think works.

we have 8 x Chevaleger

Next up 4 Guard Du Corps

and then 24 artillery crew and 6 guns

                    Points unbased figures

                   18 x cavalry 4pts each =72pts -(25%) = 54pts

                    24 x foot 2pts each = 48pts (-25%) = 36pts

                    6 x artillery 4pts each = 24pts (-25%) = 18pts

                        

                                                            Total 108pts

From Millsy: More lovely work in 18mm from you mate. I know you don't enjoy these from our discussions but you cannot argue with the quality of your work regardless. Cracking stuff and thanks for doing the math for me! 

From KentG: 28mm ACW Union limber, 18mm Westphalian commission (142 points)

Morning everyone just a small submission this week due

to Commission work taking over, First up we have a 

6 horse Union Limber, This was part of a large stash of 

metal and plastics that  I swapped for painting some minis.

The figures are 28mm Metals, except for the Limber itself which was 

missing so I've used a plastic limber. I have a confederate one that is

 also missing the limber so will do the same with that in the coming weeks

I love limbers and I rather dislike them, you might say what?

well I love painting them and they just look amazing on the battle field

as eye candy, but they are so big and heavy they are a right pain to store and 

I've even found they don't fit on some battlefields.

The three guys on the limber are my favorite, they look like best of mates

Next up we have unbased commission. For those that don't already know 

I'm  a commission painter and have been for 18 years now.

the annoying thing about this is you don't get to paint a lot of your own minis

This challenge I'm trying my best to do my figures but the commission work 

has a schedule which I try to stick to, which means they can wait no longer.

Sapper de la Genie du Garde

The figures are beautiful AB miniatures and have travelled to me from Australia 

and end up in New York so they will be well travelled

The army is Westphalian which I have never painted before so has been a 

challenge to try and find correct uniforms.

This is about a third of the figures so there will be a few more before 

I can get back to my own minis.

            Points 

            28mm, 6 horse limber: 6 horses, 6 figures, 1 x limber = 70pts

            18mm unbased infantry x 46 = 69pts [Millsy... -25% points for unbased]

            18mm unbased cavalry x 1 = 3pts [Millsy... -25% points for unbased]

            Total 142 points

From Millsy: Only a crazy man paints limbers. There, I've said it. At least when you do paint them you do a cracking job mate! Beautiful brushwork on the Westphalians too, especially the grenadiers and sappers of the guard who are absolutely glorious. 142 more points for you tally!

 Hello all!

I had thought upon retirement that my days of large collections of unpainted miniatures would soon be over. Alas, after three years without a full-time career, I can confirm that freedom without structure is just as great an enemy of progress as trudging off to the office every day. It's funny how many hobby-related tasks you can do without actually sitting down at the painting table. On the bright side, my reference library has never looked better, but at least a Division's worth of Napoleonic's still need to be painted. 

I therefore decided to join the Challenge and set some real deadlines to complete my long-delayed project. So far, so good.

What you see below are four small battalions (sorry KenR) of 18mm French and Bavarians from AB Miniatures. The flags are from Fighting 15's.

 

There are two battalions of French Légère, one battalion of Bavarian Leichtes and one battalion of Bavarian Line. I have also included a Bavarian Brigadier in the Leichtes green uniform. I make no claim as to any specific regiment as I find uniform specifics too tricky to master and I prefer to paint what I think looks good. The troops never complain.

The Bavarians are brand new (thanks Eureka Miniatures USA) so I am claiming them as New Acquisitions in the Library. I have also included a newly painted figure of indeterminate origin to claim Sarah's Library Cart. I believe she may be a freebie I picked up from Footsore Miniatures somewhere along the way. In any event, I refer to her as Lady Penelope. 

I am claiming the following points:

96 x 15mm foot @2 points = 192 points

1 x 15mm mounted @ four points = 4 points

20 points for New Acquistions = 20 points

20 points for lady Sarah's Book Cart = 20 points

Total = 236 points

 

Sylvain: To me, there is definitely a quality to quantity and I really like the overall look of your Napoleonic troops on the tabletop. Beyond the quantity, the quality of your brushwork is impeccable. I will add 4 points for the numerous flags to boost up your tally to 240. Vive l'Empereur!
