From TeemuL: Sarah's Romantic Choice [Romance] (50 points)

Here we are at the Romantic topic of the history. What would be more romantic in the 24th century than Commander Riker alone with a nameless female Starfleet Admiral? Nothing, I guess. The admiral has a cold look on her face, apparently very familiar with Riker's reputation, but it is doubtless that with his honey words Riker will break the ice and in no time at all these two will be spending some time in the Ten Forward with exotic drinks and plans to continue in the private quarters...

I was planning to create a little cinematic story around these two and romance, but somehow I still think I'm in the Tuesday crew and have lots of time. Well, I'm in the Monday crew and I had a one day less time... So just boring photos. I was worried not to get the "officer red" right, but in the end I think I managed to do it in minimum effort. I first painted them with Mephiston Red and then washed with Reikland Fleshshade and stopped in time before trying to do any highlights or anything. The shirts are now quite glossy, but some varnish should remove most of it.

These two are HeroClix WidKids models, I brutally removed their original clix bases and planted them on 32mm mdf bases and added some sand. More Starfleety terrain (like deck of Enterprise) would have been more interesting (and difficult) so I opted to do my quite regular scifi sand base with exotic plants (Army Painter tufts first drybrushed yellow and then a small dot of blue Contrast paint in the middle), which turned out to be quite nice.

During the Christmas time I was reading an old Space Marine codex and as you know, what you read, inspires you. I remembered I had this old Space Marine Predator in a box, bought second hand as part of a Black Templar army. It was basically sprayed black and then guns and track painted silver, no tidying up. I decided to take a rather easy way and paint it different black and somehow Raven Guard inspired me. I gave it a gentle wash with warm water and managed to remove the transfers. I carefully painted the whole tank black with brush, which was quite easy, because it was basically primed black already. I wanted a quick and simple finish so decided to pick up quite a little of the details, I painted the guns, dozer blade and tires white and tracks and vents silver. White parts got a Reikland Fleshshade wash before drybrushed white again.

I painted some highlights with two different shades of grey, but I only used it on the front of the tank, because I was lazy and figured out that there could not be light coming from every angle at the same intensity. I'm quite happy how it worked out.

Simple free hand chapter and vehicle insignia on the front, but nothing more. In the codex there was a lenghty topic on how the Space Marine tanks are named and I wanted to name my tank, too. And I was thinking how the ships often have female names and Space Marine tanks often have quite funny or pompous names and my tired brain started to think a proper name for a Predator painted during the Challenge... There is no space to paint the name on the tank really, but the tank is nevertheless named "Sarah's Choice", but I'm not saying the tank is female!!!

Yes, before the Challenge I had a plan, so far I have finished 0 models from the plan...

The HeroClix models are quite tall, somewhere between 28 and 40, but in the past they are scored as 5 point per figure, so that is 10 points. And then 20 points for the Romantic topic and another 20 points for 28mm vehicle for total of 50 points.

Sylvain: Your StarTrek figurines from the Next Generation series bring back memories from the 90s. I like the bright red color very evocative of the show and also a very bad omen for extras wearing that colors in the earlier series... The tank looks the business and will inspire fear on the tabletop.

If you cold provide a map of your progress in the library, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

From SimonM: Various Figures by "Papsikels Miniatures" (50 Points), Crimson Cowl by “Wizkids” (5 Points) & Lady Sarah’s Limousine (20 Points)

This 32mm Colonist Marine Cyborg Hero E-900 Exterminator is produced by "Papsikels Miniatures" and was sent to me as a free STL (Standard Triangle Language) file as part of their PAPSIPACK Welcome Models subscription set on "Patreon". The miniature was produced using "Elegoo" Water Washable Resin on a Mars 3 Pro 3D Printer and is clearly inspired by the “less-advanced, reprogrammed Terminator” played by Arnold Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1991 science-fiction film “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”.

Pigmented using “Duncan Rhodes' Two Thin Coats” paint range, the cyborg assassin was undercoated in Doom Death Black, dry-brushed using “Vallejo” Heavy Charcoal”, had his T-shirt ‘picked out’ in Cold Corpse Blue and drenched in Oblivion Black Wash. I next applied a little Sir Coates Silver and splash of (more) Oblivion Black Wash to his belt buckle and pistol, before using a combination of Glistening Gold and Battle Mud Wash on the killing machine’s cartridge belt.

The Terminator’s hair and boots were treated to some Cuirass Leather and (more) Battle Mud Wash, and his remaining skin picked out with a little Elven Flesh and watered-down “Citadel” Reikland Fleshshade. His exposed exo-skeleton was given a layer of Sir Coates Silver and Oblivion Black Wash, before I dotted his robotic eye with a drop of Demon Red and a dab of "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson. Lastly, to try and break up the all-black colour scheme, I gave his jacket a light dry-brush of more Cuirass Leather and blended this in with some additional Oblivion Black Wash.

Sticking with “Papsikels Miniatures”, I have also finished three 32mm Yurneyan Golem Exofist Mask figures using "Elegoo" Water Washable Resin on a Mars 3 Pro 3D Printer. Like “Arnie”, these were downloaded for free as part of a set of STL (Standard Triangle Language) files from their PAPSIPACK Welcome Models subscription set on "Patreon” and were originally a quartet. However, one of the model’s arms failed to print – probably due to my overloading the build plate.

The 55mm tall sculpts are recognisably inspired by Ridley Scott’s 2012 science fiction film “Prometheus” and were predominantly painted using “Duncan Rhodes' Two Thin Coats paint” range. They were all primed with a double helping of Gravestone Blue, shaded using Oblivion Black Wash and dry-brushed with (more) Gravestone Blue. This really helped bring out all the partly organic looking details of their survival suits.

However, I thought the “Space Jockeys” looked a little bland so decided to pick out their stomachs, fingers and throats using a combination of Sir Coates Silver and Oblivion Black Wash. This somewhat tied into some of the pictures I have seen of the alien’s costumes for the movies, which appear to have a somewhat silvery/fleshy sheen to them. As a final step I applied Ivory Tusk to their heads, washed these areas with watered-down “Citadel” Carroburg Crimson, and dotted their eyes with Doom Death Black.

Alongside my (not) Terminator and (not) Engineers I have also pigmented seven more 32mm scale E-800 Exterminators by "Papsikels Miniatures". These could be downloaded for free as part of a set of STL (Standard Triangle Language) files from their "Patreon" The Exterminator December 2022 subscription service and are clearly based upon James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd's science-fiction "Terminator" franchise.

Produced using "Elegoo" Water Washable Resin on a Mars 3 Pro 3D Printer, I undercoated the figures with some "Citadel" Abaddon Black, then gave each killer robot a double-helping of Sir Coates Silver from “Duncan Rhodes' Two Thin Coats” paint range and a generous splash of Oblivion Black Wash. Each android was then carefully dry-brushed with (more) Sir Coates Silver and had their eyes picked out with a spot of Demon Red and a dab of "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson.

Lastly, due to wanting their metallic hand-weapons to stand out a little bit from the rest of the E-800 Exterminators, I applied a second shade of Oblivion Black Wash to all the firearms and any ammunition feeds they were carrying.

My last figure for this week’s submission was pigmented simply to let me take Lady Sarah’s Limousine from the Super-Heroes studio to the Books studio. It is a 28mm scale pre-painted plastic model of the Crimson Cowl which was produced by “Wizkids” and is miniature number 091 from their old Marvel “Heroclix” Ultimates range. “The mysterious boss of the Masters of Evil” Justine Hammer’s alter-ego was created by Kurt Busiek and Mark Bagley for the April 1997 issue of "Thunderbolts" by "Marvel Comics".

Removed from the figure's flying 'clicky' base and super-glued upon a plastic 25mm circular base, the super-villain was treated to a double-coat of “Duncan Rhodes' Two Thin Coats” Sanguine Scarlet and shaded in "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson. She was then heavily dry-brushed with (more) Sanguine Scarlet, before having her eye slits spotted with a smidgeon of Skulker Yellow and “Citadel” Reikland Fleshshade.

From SimonM: Sauron by "Wizkids" (5 Points) + Super-Hero Bonus (20 Points) + Xeno Brood Sentry by "Papsikels Miniatures" (5 Points)

This 28mm scale pre-painted plastic model of Sauron was produced by “Wizkids” and is miniature number 029 from their Marvel “Heroclix” Wolverine & The X-Men range. After being bitten by mutant pterodactyls, physician Doctor Karl Lykos was transformed into a humanoid Pteranodon, who was "able to absorb the life force of others through touch." Created by Roy Thomas and Neal Adams, the Savage Lands mutate made its first appearance in the September 1969 issue of "The X-Men by "Marvel Comics".

Clipped from the figure's 'clicky' base and super-glued upon a plastic 25mm circular base, the super-villain was treated to a double-coat of Ethereal Green from "Duncan Rhodes Two Thin Coats" paint range so as to cover up its previous paint-job, shaded in Battle Mud Wash, and thoroughly dry-brushed with (more) Ethereal Green. I then 'picked out' his tongue using a combination of Sanguine Scarlet and "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson, before dotting in the energy vampire's mesmerising eyes with a smidgeon of "Duncan Rhodes Two Thin Coats" Skulker Yellow over a "Citadel" Abaddon Black base layer.

Finally, I applied two layers of Sorceror's Cloak from "Duncan Rhodes Two Thin Coats" over Lykos' torn loin-cloth and shaded it with "Citadel" Druchii Violet. To be honest I had originally intended to pigment the garment in yellow, as per the miniature's 'official' paint scheme. But having recently played quite a bit the computer game Marvel Snap, I decided to go with the colour he wears on his digital card.

Having previously completed four Green Pass studio tasks (Sci-Fi, 1980's, Casting Couch & World Cinema), I decided to travel back the way I came so as to use Sauron as the perfect piece to bag my first Blue Pass at the Superheroes studio. Sure, the character has been a lifelong foe of the X-Men, but like so many classic villians, he's also been a hero at times - befriending the Lord of the Hidden Jungle, Ka-Zar, and ultimately sacrificing himself (by hurling himself off of a cliff) when he realised what a threat to Humanity he had become.

Alongside Doctor Karl Lykos' alter-ego, I have also pigmented a rather large 32mm scale Xeno Brood Sentry produced by "Papsikels Miniatures". The model can be downloaded for free as an STL (Standard Triangle Language) file from their PAPSIPACK Welcome Models subscription set on "Patreon", and is based upon a species of H.R.Giger's infamous deadly xenomorphs.

Produced using "Elegoo" Water Washable Resin on a Mars 3 Pro 3D Printer, the monster was super-glued to a "Citadel" 60mm circular base and primed in Doom Death Black by "Duncan Rhodes Two Thin Coats". I next gave the model an enthusiastic dry-brush of Scorched Earth and shaded it with Oblivion Black Wash to help make the creature's base layer look very dark indeed.

I next much more delicately (re)dry-brushed the models with (more) Scorched Earth, before applying a light highlight of Dust Bowl across all the prominent raised areas. Finally, to help better blend this all together, I gave the fearsome fiend an absolute drowning in Battle Mud Wash. This just left me needing to 'pick out' all the alien's metal teeth with a combination of Sir Coates Silver and Oblivion Black Wash, as well as apply a coat of Doom Death Black across its forehead and scorpion-like stinger tail.

One x 28mm scale foot figure = 5 Points

One x 32mm scale foot figure = 5 Points

Superheroes Studio Bonus = 20 Points

Total = 30 Points

From TashaH: Last Minute Planet Scramble [Babylon5][Xanth][Lady Sarah’s Star Yacht] (75 points)

Well.

Here we are on Babylon5. This figure is the first one I assembled myself. Yikes! When I got it in the mail, I contemplated putting it in a drawer and just forgetting about it!

Overall, it was easy to assemble. I should have paid a little closer attention, as I clipped the pegs off on his legs, so he is just sitting precariously on his shoes!

This is Zo! - a Starfinder Miniature. As with most of the figures in the Challenge, I know nothing about him. I chose him for this planet for his microphone. He will be given a place of honour in my husband’s music room, where many a song is sung and while perhaps not quite operatic, he can hit some pretty amazing notes!

As I’ve completed 4 planets on the outer and middle rings, I understand I can drop directly to the inner ring. I’m going to head to the planet Xanth.

Here I have another Elf Cleric from WizKids. As you can see, he clearly has the unique talent of being able to conjure fire in the palm of his hand!

I had planned to have a figure completed for Lune, but I do not. I would like to call on Lady Sarah’s Star Yacht to take us to Terra.

This is the last of the Heroclix figures I have from WizKids (thank goodness).  Psylocke is from the Xmen and that is about all I know about her. I do know I didn’t paint her outfit properly, but I did use four different shades of black to try to make her look cool.

I ordered my new 3D printer today and I am soooo excited. I just wish I had some more time to use it before the end of the Challenge.

The points:

3 - 32 mm figures - 15 points

2 Planet Bonuses + Star Yacht - 60 points

Total - 75 points

(I redid all the photos with a lighter background as the originals were incredibly dark)

That's a lovely trio of figures, Tasha!

From TashaH: Tiptoe Through The Planets [Cybertron][Krypton][Gethen] (80 points)

No special permissions required for this entry on Cybertron! I actually got this one spot on!

This is Bumblebee, from the WizKids Transformers collection.

I had great vision for Bumblebee when I ordered him. In my mind he was going to be a glorious yellow with highlights. It was going to be magnificent.

I realized quite quickly that yellow is an incredibly difficult colour to master. This was further confirmed to me in a Paint and Chat session!

I further complicated my painting situation by deciding to try a little bit of contrast paint in an inconspicuous spot, to see if I could brighten it up. This figure is too heavy. I set it down to open the pot of paint. Bumblebee decided he wanted to transform and toppled over, dumping a brand new pot of Contrast paint all over my desk, onto myself, but most devastatingly onto Bumblebee. Having to incorporate the contrast paint into the rest of the figure brought it too orange. I threw up my hands and said "enough"! (actually I said a lot of bad words ...shhh) I did some highlights and blending to try and help the situation but I’m not sure there was any coming back at this point!

He is not magnificent but he is acceptable. My daughter is a gaming streamer online. She took Bumblebee for decor in her streaming background. She’s very particular, so I take it as a compliment!

From here we are going to take a little zip through the Great Abyssal, into the Inner Ring, landing on Krypton. I just happen to have a superhero at hand!

I am not at all up on any of the Universes. I know the major characters but other than that, I’m clueless. This is the Cannonball Heroclix figure from WizKids. I bought a few of these specifically for the challenge.

I don’t know anything about Cannonball, but he sure looks super fast!

Continuing with our superhero theme, we are going to bounce next door to Gethen. It’s mighty cold here and Emma Frost, another WizKids Heroclix figure, fits right in.

This figure is dreadful. If I were to do it over, I’d forego the clear bits and just prime the whole thing. Actually, if I’m honest, I wouldn’t buy this figure again! The WizKids figures are a convenient option, particularly for someone like me just starting out. Unfortunately, I find that they are hit or miss with detail quality and their pre-priming is iffy.

I’m not sure where we are going next, so we will chill here for a bit!

The points:

1 54 mm figure - 10 points

2 28 mm figures - 10 points

3 planet bonuses - 60 points

Total - 80 points

What a delightful set of minis! Yellow is a very difficult colour to paint, as the pigments are very translucent. I'm not sure if we shared our tips with you on chat, but my top one is to paint a different, more opaque colour (eg, yellow ochre, white, flesh, pink, light brown) underneath first.

From SimonM: Robots & Hydra (Skaro)(Sarah's Star Yacht)(60 points)

For my fourth post I thought I would take a trip on Sarah's Star Yacht from Istvaan V to Skaro, and test out both some of the metallic Alchemy paint range by "Scalecolor", as well as the Grey Surface Primer by "Vallejo". As a result my opening model is the now out of production (OOP) Morrigun by "Wargames Factory". This waitress droid "was the only female robot member the ABC Warriors have ever had", and was recruited "principally for her skill at the martial arts."

The 28mm metal figure was undercoated using Grey Surface Primer by "Vallejo", before being layered with "Scalecolor" Blue Alchemy, shaded in Drakenhof Nightshade, and dry-brushed with (more) "Scalecolor" Blue Alchemy. The automaton's armour was picked out with "Citadel" Abaddon Black, whilst her (somewhat misshapen lips) were lightly highlighted using a mixture of "Vallejo" Heavy Red and "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson.

Having arrived on Skaro, I thought I would subsequently paint two decidedly weird robots in the shape of Walter The Wobot by "Mongoose Publishing" and Ro-Jaws by "Wargames Factory". As with Morrigun, this pair of 28mm metal miniatures are now long OOP, but again they gave me an opportunity to further explore the "Scalecolor" Alchemy line.

Walter, who for many years was Judge Dredd's house robot, had originally been primed with "Vallejo" Gunmetal. However, having done some research on the robo-servant with a speech impediment, it was clear he was actually grey in colour. Resultantly, I re-primed him with a couple of coats of "Scalecolor" Thrash Metal, washed him with "Citadel" Nuln Oil, and then dry-brushed him with (more) "Scalecolor" Thrash Metal. I also 'picked out' his supposed "I'm Walter Try Me" sign using a mixture of "Vallejo" Heavy Red and "Citadel" Carroburg Crimson, and gave his face-screen a coat of "Citadel" Ardcoat (gloss varnish).

Ro-Jaws, who was "originally named Federal Recycling & Environmental Droid 2-L", was undercoated in "Vallejo" Grey Surface Primer before receiving a double-helping of "Scalecolor" Emerald Alchemy. The ex-municipal sewage robot was then shaded using "Citadel" Biel-Tan Green, Agrax Earthshade and "The Army Painter" Strong Tone Quickshade. He was subsequently dry-brushed using (more) "Scalecolor" Emerald Alchemy, and "Vallejo" Gunmetal.

Lastly, I rather embarrassingly found this 28mm plastic sculpt of a Hydra Infiltrator by "Wizkids" from their Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel Heroclix expansion buried away in my basing grit box, having presumably been lost there for quite some time. The figure had already been popped off of his 'clicky base', so was quickly given a couple of coats of "Vallejo" Heavy Grey and washed with "Citadel" Biel-Tan Green. To be honest the sculpting on this figure was incredibly soft, and not helped at all with the thick pre-paint I was working over-the-top of. However, a quick dry-brush of (more) "Vallejo" Heavy Grey seemed to do the villain's costume some justice, and I was later able to paint a few fingers on the chap's balled fists using a combination of "Vallejo" Heavy Skintone and "Citadel" Reikland Fleshshade.

Morrigun - 5 Points

Sarah's Star Yacht - 20 Points

Walter The Wobot & Ro-Jaws - 10 Points

Skaro - 20 Points

Hydra Infiltrator - 5 Points

Total - 60 Points

It is interesting to see the effects of this Alchemy range, and the variety of robots and droids you've provided certainly allows that. A good save on the Hydra figure- an improvement on a limited sculpt.

From PhilH: Mutants Clash on Snowlord’s Peak! (50 Points)

“...how about a nice Super to two for old times’ sake” roared the great blue figure.

Erm...I know these aren’t your forte oh Snowlord, but they’re Mutants actually. Totally *cough* different concept from the Silver Age of Marvel comics, drawing on the civil rights movement and which nowadays sit awkwardly alongside the more popular Marvel lines.

Alright that’s enough pedantry. Two individuals with superhuman abilities, coming up.

First, another from the delightfully named ‘Brotherhood of Evil Mutants’. Bit like the Mitchell and Webb sketch: are we the baddies?

It’s Cain Marco aka Juggernaut. He’s actually not a mutant, rather a human empowered by some nonsensical maguffin*, whose thing is nigh-unstoppable momentum and superhuman strength. And being about 10 feet tall and built like the proverbial small brick structure.
*its late, bed calls and I’m beyond covering convoluted Marvel lore

He’s a repainted Marvel Heroclix, standing at about 55mm as Knight Models never made a Juggernaut.

And in counterpoint, The rather more diminutive gentlemen who this whole Marvel line is named for: the one, the only Professor Charles Xavier.

Not completely finished, the chair needs a bit more work to tidy up
The wheelchair-bound Professor X is all about the mind: intellectual, genius, powerful psychic, telepath, and telekinetic. Oh, and to tick off a nicely themed duo, and he’s Juggernaut’s step-brother.

Juggernaut‘s helm  confers immunity to Professor X’s mind powers, so this is a very one-sided clash.

A 35mm and 50mm+, plus the location bonus is about 47 Points?

Thats it for my Challenge X, sailing past my target in the last 6 hours and atop Snowlord’s peak. Thanks to Curt, the ever-patient Sarah, all of the minions and cover minions and the wonderful bunch of participants we had this time around. The new theme was a great new twist on this annual tradition.

Stay well in these uncertain times, everyone (and follow the advice of your medical professionals)

______________________________________

Wait, wait, wait! No Supers?! What's all this Mutant malarkey? If these weren't already spectacular I'd demand you take them back to paint on some spandex tights or something.

Seriously, great work Phil. You wow us once again with your incredibly smooth layering - really beautiful stuff.

I'm not convinced that Professor X would be out of this. With his telekinesis I'm sure there is a freight train or something hurtling down on Juggernaut's head.

Let's call the Prof. the equivalent of a cavalry figure and the Big Guy a 54mm. Easy peasy.

It's always a delight, Phil. I look forward to next time or, even better, seeing you soon.

From SimonM: "Wizkids" Dire Wraiths & "Otherworld Miniatures" Black Pudding (45 Points)

This 28mm scale pewter model of a Black Pudding is produced by "Otherworld Miniatures", and can be bought as Code DM7b from their range of Dungeon Monsters. Hand-sculpted by Paul Muller, the creature made its first appearance in the 1974 "Dungeons & Dragons" set and "resembles a bubbling, heaped pile of thick, black, pudding-like goo, roughly fifteen feet across and two feet thick."

As with the Hertfordshire-based manufacturer's Green Slime, I found the "nasty, oozing creature that haunts caverns and dungeons, seeking unwary denizens to prey upon" to actually overlap the edges of its accompanying "50mm round plastic slotta-base", so ended up super-gluing it to a 60mm circular base instead. I then applied a double basecoat of "Citadel" Abaddon Black over the "mindless, underground-dwelling scavenger" and heavily dry-brushed with "Vallejo" Heavy Charcoal.

Finally, I drowned the Black Pudding in "Citadel" Nuln Oil. I actually found this particular 'figure' rather underwhelming, as although it has some nice detail, it is incredibly flat for an underground creature which "secretes a digestive acid that dissolves organic material and metal quickly." "Wizkids" produced a far more dynamic-looking, almost swirling version as part of their Monster Menagerie Set 2, but I have been unable to source a reasonably priced one yet...

Speaking of "Wizkids" and their pre-painted plastics, I have also pigmented eight of their 31mm tall plastic Dire Wraiths. Still potentially available as number 010a from the "Marvel" Guardians Of The Galaxy "Heroclix" range, these shape-shifting aliens "are an evolutionary offshoot of the Skrulls from the Andromeda Galaxy" and were created by Bill Mantlo and Al Milgrom for the December 1979 issue of "Rom".

Once the models were removed from their clicky-bases and super-glued onto 40mm circular bases, they were all primed with two coats of "Vallejo" Heavy Red and heavily washed with "Citadel" Agrax Earthshade. The extra-terrestrial opponents of Rom the Spaceknight were then dry-brushed with (more) "Vallejo" Heavy Red.

Each Wraith's pair of eyes were 'picked out' first with some "Citadel" Abaddon Black, and then a tiny spot of "Vallejo" Heavy Ochre. As I wanted the "Skrullian Deviants" pupils to particularly stand out, I didn't bother shading them, and instead simply tidied their edges up with some additional "Citadel" Abaddon Black and "Vallejo" Heavy Red.

MilesR: wow lots of red today too.  Very nicely done

From SimonM: "Wizkids" Iron, Tin and Lead (15 Points)

These three 28mm figures of Iron, Tin and Lead are produced by “Wizkids” and can be bought as miniature numbers 009, 010 and 026 respectively from their World's Finest DC "Heroclix" range. "Advanced artificially intelligent robots" who were created by scientist Dr. William "Will" Magnus, this super-team first appeared in the March/April 1962 edition of "Showcase", and were created by Robert Kanigher amd Ross Andru.

Having previously painted sculpts of these automatons from the "DC Comics" "Heroclix" expansion Crisis, I wanted to do something different with them, and try out a couple of paints I haven't used that much since obtaining them. As a result each model was cut-off from its 'clicky-base', permanently attached to one of the 40mm thin-lipped circular bases I use for all my objective markers and then primed using a colour somewhat similar to that of their comic book colours.

I therefore used "Citadel" Leadbelcher on the "slow-witted and loyal" Lead, "Vallejo" Silver on the "self-doubting and insecure" Tin, and "Citadel" Ironbreaker upon the "strongman" Iron. All three figures, whose 'personalities mirror their namesake metals', were subsequently shaded using "Citadel" Nuln Oil, before being simply dry-brushed using their main base colour.

More classic work from 'the Nuln Oil Kid' - smashing stuff Simon.
