From Mike F - Steel Legion Veteran Squad (50pts)

It took forever to get these guys done. I've been sick since last week and could only do minimal painting. On the plus side I wasn't going to work so I had lots of time to pick away at these when I could. This is the last infantry unit for by Imperial Guard Steel Legion. They're a veteran squad and I used the Kill Team Death Korps box to represent them. They're pretty nice figures with a few different equipment option. I had to cast another arm for the meltagun, so I could have three special weapons in the unit. I'm impressed how well it came out.

I have one unit remaining, but I'm not sure I have enough time to complete it. We'll see I guess.

Thanks for visiting!

Uff.. hope you heal up soon, but not too soon that you have to go back to work, but just soon enough that you can paint more steel legion models! These are looking amazing, and love the color combo you have going on here as well. Also couldn't tell that you have to cast an arm to get it working.. all lots straight from the box!

Wonderful, and 50 pts for you!

From MikeF - Steel Legion Commissar - 5 Points

For Sunday I painted a Steel Legion Commissar for my Steel Legion Imperial Guard army for 40k. I picked him up during one of GW’s made to order offerings and painted him up in the traditional Commissar colors as opposed to those of my Steel Legion. Commissars serve a vital function in IG armies by instilling strong discipline in the command units. This is achieved through summary execution of the commanding officer should he be found wanting. Very inspiring!

1 x 28 mm mini = 5 points.

That’s it for a few weeks as I’m on vacation and don’t plan on painting on the beach!

Thanks for visiting.

Always was fascinated by the role of the commissar in the IG forces. Like.. hey.. do the job or I will be the problem here.. Lovely painting on him, and definitely has the role down for what is being asked of him!

A cool 5 pts given to you.. mostly in fear of being shot by the model if not provided!

From MikeF - Steel Legion Heavy Weapons - 60 points

Continuing with my Steel Legion Imperial Guard projects is a group of heavy weapon: 2 lascannons and a heavy bolter. These were purchased for a ridiculous sum of money from GW's made-to-order FOMO scam that caters to suckers like me. Thankfully, I'm close to done with this army and hopefully I can get the rest done by challenge end. I'm not sure on the points though. Artillery is 10 points, but I'm not sure if the crew are included in that total. If so, these are 30 points. If not, 60 points.

Thanks for visiting!

Quick, concise, and to the point there Mike. Great work.
As far as I am aware, the artillery pieces are separate from the infantry, so therefore its 60 pts. Am sure if I have gotten it wrong also, I will be informed by the other Minions, but thats how I would play it out as.

Concerning the models and painting themselves.. great job here! They look ready to take down some oppositions armor quite quickly in that setup!

60 pts for you

From MikeF - Overdues and Returns - Steel Legion Lascannons; New Acquisitions and the dangers of smoking - Burnt Tree Terrain - 106 points

Getting my first post in under the wire (and only one shot across the bow from Curt!). For the past year Ive been working on and off on an Imperial Guard Steel Legion army for 40k. I've decided to make a final push to finish the few remaining and overdue units. The models below are from Victoria Miniatures, with heads from Mad Robot Miniatures. They represent lascannon heavy weapon squads. 3 Crew served weapon for 30 points, plus the room = 50 points.

This guy couldn't be less interested in the battle or his lungs!

Second up is a new terrain acquisition. I wanted to make some trees that looked like they have been burned as opposed to the many trees I have with full and lush foliage. I bought some Woodland Scenic tree frames and did some minimal paint and ground work. Pretty quick and simple and will serve their purpose.  I think I worked these out to about 6 points, plus the room = 26 points.

Oops! That's going to be a steep fine.

76 points total.

Welcome to the Sunday Crew mike, and a great first post! Glad that you made it!

Great models there. Just right for weapon platforms! And those lascannons.. I think I had some of those back in the day when I was still in Canada! Very nostalgic for me there. Though were the crew AND guns painted here? If so then its a bit more than 30 pts. As each gun is 10 pts, and the infantry is still another 5 pts each. So that would give you 60+20 for the room!

And those trees are exactly how I envision a burned forest. Maybe a bit more soot spread on the base, but looks the bit!

Great work and 106 pts added for you on your first post!
