 I've finished my wee Scots army for ImagiNation 7YW. Yay me.

These 4 battalion strength regiments are the Lowland Brigade

They comprise from left to right Fraser, Ogilvy, Stewart and by special request Williamson. They wear either green or brown tweed jackets

This is the final highland horde clan, the Sinclairs

I found a load of clan flags on the internet that I printed so that where possible each regiment has it's clan or the Royal standard.

This is the entire force, 6 brigades, Scots Hussars, artillery and generals

Onthe other flank we have the Highland horde, a highland brigade to the rear and at the front a light brigade (the Border Reivers). This light brigade actually started the whole idea. They are Rogers Rangers from the FIW.

All the figures are Pendraken and I love them all. Now they need to be bloodied, obviously they will lose their 1st battle

This has been a grand wee-scale project, Martin and it's great to see the whole army together at the end. Lovely stuff!

So this is probably my final post, I am looking at another figure as I type but we will see.
At the start of this challenge I had a plan to complete my 7YW 10mm Austrian Army for the Battle of Lobositz.
It was a close run thing

4 foot regiments - Kolowrat, Josheph Esterhazy, Kheul and Waldeck

2 more - Browne and Alt-Colloredo

Officers with a new version of Ulysses von Browne  - needed something to do with the unused standard bearers from the converged horse regiments.

So now that I have finsihed them what do they look like

This, this is the whole army 34 battalions of foot, 15 regiments of cavalry and loads of cannon and officers

I have an extra unit of dragoons in the army, I can't count.

So these are ready to rock.

Total = 258 plus flag bonus

So that is it. It's been good. I've pretty much emptied my lead mountain and had to restock. I've painted loads of 10mm, including having the honour of being the jobbing painter on the "For Joshua" project. This has been an inspirational project and that you all who have submitted figures. James has thousands now.

I'm coming to the end of my Austrians, not going to make the final curtain in time though - slightly too many to paint and C-19 is making work hectic.

My Battle of Lobositz, the 1st major battle of the 7YW between Prussia and Austria, armies continue to grow. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it's not an on coming train.

1st you need a hill. This is made from a gardeninf kneeling matt and is about the size of a terrain cube. It's nice material and I may buy more but it is a little rectangular.

Then add some Austrians. 4 regiments of Pendraken Austrians and 4 supply wagons

Harrach in the front and Jung-Wolfenbuttel to the rear

Wallis at the front and Hildburghausen to the rear

From MartinC: 7 Years War Austrians - 10mm (63 Points)

My 7 years War 10mm Austrian project continues with the aim of building the full army for the Battle of Lobositz, the 1st major land battle between the Austrians and the Prussians.

The last 9 battalion guns - I now have 15 of these

Some officers to command brigades and divisions and CinC field Marshall Maximillian Ulysses von Browne to command the whole army on the front. I've added cuffs and lapel colours as they were generally all white with some gold (Ok a lot of) gold, which makes them very boring in 10mm.

More great 10mm goodness - I love seeing figures in this scale, particularly from Pendraken - such awesome stuff. My recent output in this edition of the Challenge might not show it, but several large 10mm projects are brewing behind the scenes on my painting desk, and submissions like these help to inspire them along. 

White coats, nice facings, and gold, gold, gold! What's not to love? Oh, to dress like an Austrian commander...anyway, that's 63 points for you. Well done.

From MartinC - Seven Year's War Austrian Cuirassiers (250pts)

Towards the end of last year me and Matt (not of this Parish) started building 7YW armies in 10mm to fight massive scale battles as opposed to our usual massive scale 28mm battles. I have a Brunswick force - well all the Brunswick army. Which is very nice and when I finished them I realised they were not fighting in our planned theatre of Prussia vs Austria.
Undaunted I assembled all the Austria troops needed from Pendraken to fight the 1st major battle of the war the Battle of Lobositz, the Kronoskaf pages are truly amazing.
One of the reasons to do this was the colourful uniforms with reds, blues and pinks on the cuffs and hussars in trippy greens.
I am about 1/2 way through the armya nd at the weekend I started the Austrian Cuirassiers - all 8 regiments. As I read through the uniform guides for the Cuirassiers i with struck with 1 shocking and unpalatable fact. In 10mm all the uniforms are the same, the bloody same! White coats, red saddles with a white stripe, black breastplate and black hat with no trim. Even the information on the flags is very sketchy.

The standard bearers all come with flags attached and the designs on the flags would be impossible to paint. So I cut the flag away and replaced it with a rod and made flags using my best Googlefu

This has made me grumpy but all the cavalry are now done, only 10 foot regiments and about 15 artillery pieces to do and I have the army done. All I have to do then is the Prussians.

Hoi,

A serious case of the flu and work kept me from posting last week and pretty much from painting as well. But last weekend saw me put that right. So here are two totally different types of units I would like to show you guys.

First up is a model that has been awaiting painting for nigh on 10 years! It's my all metal Old Skool Dark Angels Dreadnaught. I have started painting it, stripped it and restarted about 4 times over the years and now what with the boy being all into Space Marines I decided that he would have to be done this Challenge. So here he is.

Next up some figures that are really special to me because of several reasons. So what figures are they? Well 7YW Austrians in 20mm or 1:72 scale from HäT. These will be available in HäT's MAC format i.e. Marching, Action and Command sets, here you can see figures of all 3 different boxes combined. This is due to the fact that these are "test-shots" meaning: pre-production test runs of the figures. I am lucky enough to have a long-standing close working relation with the HäT company and sometimes test shots find their way over to me.

Them being testshots makes them special, but they are also special for a reason I am not yet allowed to disclose but it's also the reason they do not have a colour yet since I want to rework a standard Austrian colour for that.  Well enough of the shady talk, I have painted them up as the Infanterie Regiment 30, Sachsen-Gotha. This was a regiment formed of citizens of the Austrian Netherlands which encompassed the region where I now live. As an aside note, my wife and myself got married under the watchful gaze of Empress Maria Theresia herself hanging from the city hall wall. Anyway here are some more pictures.

Now, where does this leave me points-wise? Not sure what amount of points the Dread will be: technically I guess it's a 28mm vehicle so 20 points? But I would understand Lee giving me 15. There are 29 figures in 20mm so that would be 116 points so say 131 points?

Ooo very nice. I love the oldskool Dreadnought, I reckon it was worth the false starts because this time you've hit the bullseye. I'm counting this as a vehicle so you get 20 points for this. The 7YW Austrians are very nice but I think you've cut yourself short on points because you have 28 foot and one mounted figure earning you 120 points, adding up to a solid 140 points for todays entry. Nicely done sir.
