I think it might...
Welcome to the Painting Challenge. Here you will find the fabulous, fevered work of miniature painters from around the world. While participants come from every ethnicity, gender, age and nationality, they have three things in common: they love miniatures, they enjoy a supportive community, and they want to set themselves against the Challenge. This site features the current year's event along with the archives of past Painting Challenges. Enjoy your visit and remember to come back soon.
"The hands that threaten doo-oom"
ReplyDeleteDoo-OOm...where is the shovel...
DeleteTwo minutes to...
DeleteHmmm - whatever could you be referring to?
ReplyDeleteWe might a forecasting and projections spreadsheet to enable focus ...
Deleteis it time for Lunch????;-)
ReplyDeleteYes..that's it... Time is an illusion... Lunchtime doubly so..
DeleteWhatever it is, I am in!
ReplyDeleteIndeed
DeleteIt's August...you must be reffering to the upcoming College Football season, surely? ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's like Xmas card sales ... The publicity ramps up earlier and earlier..
DeletePlease, I'm in the middle of my summer holiday break, don't stress me!!
ReplyDeleteJust a little psiops..
DeleteI'm in the woods for military training, so I'm okay with two minutes till doomsday! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh well, whatever it is count me in please ;-)
ReplyDeleteAfter my poor form last year I am so ready for this year - the lead pile grows with purpose...
ReplyDeleteWill Paul make a challenge to be the new GIMP?
DeleteThere can be only one!
DeleteJust building my spreadsheet now!
DeleteUndercoat! UNDERCOAT!!
ReplyDeleteSurely you have the stuff you did not got done last year in the bank?

ReplyDeleteNope!

DeleteFigures (from last year's Challenge) prepared - check! Paints and brushes ready - check! Theme rounds - awaited........
ReplyDeleteand what about the one from two year ago... sure you have some.. i do!
DeleteI hope I can participate this year. I've been doing some commission work and I'm discussing doing some work for Freeblade Miniatures. Painting Frostgrave has been lucrative for me :)
ReplyDeleteI hope we get to see your commission work Anne???
DeleteI have a site for my work and eventually I'll put a link up to it. I've agreed to paint some figures for Freeblade, so I'm going to be swamped for awhile yet.
DeleteThere may come a day when I run out of mountains of lead and plastic to paint....But this is not that day!
ReplyDeleteToday we paint!
So, I look across the moor to 'Challenge Asylum' and I am astonished to see a light on in one of the wards. Upon further investigation I see that inmate Docherty is up to his usual capers, stirring up the mob.
ReplyDeleteIt's still summer you lunatics! (Well, at least for those with less, ahem, 'colourful' antecedents...) You'll have to wait until November before you can check back in to the institution. Go out and play in the sun you pallid, paint-stained creatures. :)
"those with less, ahem, 'colourful' antecedents..."
DeleteOi! We're not ALL convict descendants you know. I thought us colonials were supposed to stick together but clearly not. Geez...
Ahhh, I just KNEW that bowl wouldn't make the wicket without a swing by Mr. Mills. ;)
DeleteDidn't want to disappoint you mate :-)
DeleteI don't see how I can miss this with all you crazy, nutty, fun people.
Delete'Challenge Asylum'? I think we may have a theme round concept there...
Deletetee hee.... pass the meds...
ReplyDeleteExcited to try joining this for my first time this year.
ReplyDeleteHappy to join again ONCE the challenge starts, but NOT before. Not even PREP!"
ReplyDeleteI will be looking for either a 6mm challenge, or a 10mm challenge this year if anyone feels like opposing me.
DeleteLast years uncompleted are standing at the ready.. and I already see another move looming around the closing dates.. so should plan myself out better!
ReplyDeleteTick tock...
ReplyDeleteWhether I join in again or not, it will be great to follow this again and especially see the fellow Antipodeans in action.
Hi, I've just come across the page & the challenge. I'm quite interested but it seems the 'about' page might be broken. I take it we are awaiting this years challenge to begin? so the rules won't be up yet?
ReplyDeleteHello Henry! Welcome! The 'About' page is not broken per se, rather I've been neglecting it as much of its information was to be used in an upcoming interview article for 'Wargame Bloggers Quarterly'. Not a real excuse, but there it is.
DeleteAs a thumbnail description: I put out the announcement for the Painting Challenge in mid November and we typically kick-off mid December. It runs for three months, over the winter, ending on the first day of spring. Last year we had 88 entrants. This year will see our seventh edition of the Challenge.
Here is my announcement from last year:

Feel free to drop me a note if you have any further questions.
Oh dear. We had a frost warning last night! I need to get some priming done before it is too late. I am determined to be better prepared this time!
ReplyDeleteHow time flies...
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to the next challenge but I'm unsure whether I'll join the bunch again. I'm simply too slow...
Looking forward to joining in the painting frenzy this winter. Prep already down on the main entry for this year.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Ross
I've been trying to train the 4month old to hold paint brushes for me. Not going well so far...but I think I'll be able to manage!
ReplyDeleteBrett, if you're still interested in joining the Challenge please send me a message or comment on the announcement post.
