Ian S - Danish Napoleonic army DBN

 Hi

So i had set myself a new target for this challenge of 1500pts, and with this post have reached it.

So at last I have painted something for myself, for over 20 years since an article in Wargames Illustrated about the Danish Auxiliary Corps in 1813 i have wanted to have a Danish Napoleonic army.  Like most wargamers i have repeatedly been side track but at last i have done it.

The figures are based for DBN with the infantry double based to give them more of a battalion feel.

I started with the order of battle for the Danish Corps and some how it fitted pts wise for a 12pt army.

Infantry are all Warrior miniature models from there french range and are extremely good value at £2.50 a pack of either 12 infantry or 6 Cavalry, Command are 6 or 3 figure packs for £1.25.  If you buy the armies it is even cheaper and they are nice figures, not to mention service is very good.

The cavalry came from the spares box with added green stuff helmets and plumes for light cavalry and new saddle clothes for the heavies.

Flags are all from the Warflag site.

There are 5 bases of Muskets all represent regiments which had both their 1st and 2nd Battalions present.

Here are the Queens and Schleswig Units

3rd Jutland, Oldenburg and Funen
These are the Units representing the 3rd and 4th Battalions Holstein, Oldenburg and 3rd Jutland which are classed as Musket Militia
Light infantry represented by the Holstein Sharp shooters and the Zealand Jagers

Artillery one foot battery and one horse.

Two Light Cavalry Units both classed as Militia by the DBN rules, Jutland in Green and Funen in blue

Heavy Cavalry but for DBN ordinary cavalry we have the Holstein regiment

Last but not least the Generals

So in DBN points this is 12pt army with one option of either Lights or Jagers.

For the Challenge the points are as follows:

73 15mm figures at 2pts each   = 146pts

11 mounted figures at 4pts each  = 44pts

Artilley

6 15mm figures = 12pts

Guns at 4pts each = 8pts

Giving a grand total of 210pts

One week left so hope to post each day now with one or two units of odds and sods.

  3. Thanks guys

Just realised yet again I have forgotten to but a flag on one of the cavalry stands.

Took awhile to do these as original plan was a week and they took two weeks to do. So I do not have time now for the Russian dbn army I have brought.

Next years challenge here they come
