Point-a-logical Machinations: An Announcement of Staggering Importance for 10mm

We have recently concluded the secret mid-challenge "Conclave of the Minions", which was held at the Four Seasons in St Kitts & Nevis.  While this meeting is closed to the public and no records are made of the discourse, you can trust me that we only make decisions that are in the best interests of the challenge.*

This years debate was the most spirited and we were able to hire a court reporter to make this image of Curt handing out inducements for one of his many proposals.  I think the one was that we all must adopt the Maple Leaf as our personal standards.  It was narrowly defeated.

One proposal where there was agreement on is a change to how we score miniatures in the 10mm category.  I shall summarize the points as follows.  Please read the next section aloud and in your most officious voice:

From this day into eternity, the 10mm scale category will now be referred to as 10-12mm and shall incorporate all miniatures said scales including the infernal Warlord Epic Scale plastic strips.   Please note we have no comment on the rumors of Warlords new line of "REALLY EPIC" 8.78mm scale minis.

Further more the points for each miniature in said category shall now henceforth be

Infantry 1 point per figure (no change, because the poor bloody infantry gets nor respect)

Cavalry & Guns: 3 points per figure - an increase of 1 vs their prior point level of 2

Vehicles: 6 points per figure, an increase of 3 over their prior scoring mark of 3

These changes have been applied retroactively for all of challenge XIII.  Under the cover of darkness and when you were not looking, I made these changes to the holy spreadsheet.  The impact increased the total points (as of Friday Night) for challenge XIII from 46,125 to 46,450 - a net increase of 325 points.  I did the math for you, you're welcome.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

This minion would like to point out that the recent prioritization change in their painting queue of moving up a primed 10mm Mongol army in no way influenced my decision on this momentous matter.  You have my word on that as I am a financial services professional *

Sincerely

Minion Miles

  1. What? What? Just when did this conclave of minions take place? And why was I not invited? I suspect this is some fiendish plot cooked up between just you and Curt for your own mutual points gains (I'll bet you both have significant projects involving 10-12mm cavalry and vehicles)!

    *lol*

Now, do we other minions need to go back and correct the points in relevant post titles?

    1. I wasn't there either! I guess next some Minion makes proposal that huge 28mm vehicles should be 25 points instead of 20!

Now, where is 10mm cavalry and vehicles...

    2. Tamsin and Teemu, methinks you need to check your coms from yesterday... No, I don't think we need to change the previous posts titles - the roster trumps all.

  3. I shall now have to devise a Maple themed Battle standard for my next Turnip28 army...

  4. How many kittens did the spreadsheet demand for this change?

  5. No one really knows how the game is played
    The art of the trade
    How the sausage gets made
We just assume that it happens
But no one else is in the room where it happens

    1. Hey Peter, there are loads if you have access to a resin 3d printer. Forest Dragon, Onmioji and MiniRat are three great digital sculptors available on Gumroad.
