G'day All,
As threatened on my last post, here's some more mobile stuff for my RCW Bolsheviks.
The cavalry are a mix of sets from Copplestone Castings and are some of the worst white metal castings I've had in ages. It took me over two hours just to clean up the horses. They paint up well enough though.
The armoured car is a Garford-Putilov from Empress Miniatures. Based on a civilian truck chassis, it's overloaded with armour and weapons for the engine size so will be slow and probably unreliable in game, but also able to take a good amount of punishment whilst dishing it out. I have visions of it crawling to mid table, conking out and becoming some sort of weird pill box. A nice kit that went together well, needed minimum clean up and was a snip to paint.
8 x 28mm cavalry and 1 x 28mm vehicle is another 100 points. Looks like I will just make my total this year.
Onwards to the Whites now...
Millsy
The cavalry may have been a pain to assemble, but you've certainly done a great job with the paint. They look marvelous. The armoured car is very cool. Early AFV's always look so quirky and ridiculous, but full of their own kind of charm.
Superb looking Cossacks!
ReplyDeleteLoving seeing this RCW stuff Millsy. That AC is bonkers
ReplyDeleteNice Cossacks and armoured car, Millsy! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the horseflesh- really well done.
ReplyDeleteGreat job matey . The truck is wonderful
ReplyDeleteOh, those cavalry are excellent and I've always loved the over optimistic armoured cars of this period (the poor engines and transmissions!)
ReplyDeleteI like the old photos where the trucks discovered that nice muddy patch in the pasture! ;)
DeleteLoving that truck and the lancers Millsy
ReplyDeleteGreat entry Millsy, lovely job on the horses
ReplyDeleteGreat cavalry, and that AC is very weird. Fine job!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Millsy - as others have noted, the AC seems so delightfully bonkers!
ReplyDeleteFab job once again mate!
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the AC!
ReplyDeleteLoving this RCW stuff Millsy! Sorry that the cleanup on the C'stone models was such a PITA...
ReplyDeleteVery nice work, Millsy! The cav are really fine looking, but I love the armored truck! So many unusual and bonkers vehicles built then while engineers and mechanics went from conspirators to adversaries in a blink! That is a proper beast!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone. Really enjoying this stuff (apart from the endless variations of khaki!).
