Hello!
Welcome to the fifteenth edition of the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge!
Following tradition, I scramble to welcome all the participants of the Challenge with the first entry. This year our theme is Dante's 'Divine Comedy' and so I thought it only proper to open the way into the Abyss with the man himself.
This is a 3d print from the talented folks at Claymore Miniatures. It's a nice rendition of Dante based on the painting by Domenico di Michelino.
As to points, this is a 28mm figure, so that's 5 points PLUS 20 for the Limbo theme location, making grand total of 25 to put me on the board. I have a sneaking suspicion this is going to be a long slog to 800 points...
Also, as a reminder, participants are free to submit entries whenever they wish until January 1st. I'll be holding down the fort during this time and as the Main Minion I'm eager to see what people come up with over the next few days.
Happy Holidays!
Again, welcome to the Challenge!
- Curt

Thanks Matt!
DeleteGotta say, this year's Challenge went under my radar completely! Great to see there's no shortage of contenders.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a lovely paint job on Dante, though I've always found him to be oscillating between articulating noble sentiments and settling scores with his personal enemies, who somehow manage to turn up in the very worst parts of the Inferno! Stay in his good books, I say!
Thanks Ev! Yeah, we have to remember that Dante was Italian with all of the passions that encompasses. :)
DeleteSo looking forward to getting started, but will have to wait till after Christmas for me. I've had great fun thinking of bits I can paint for the 'Dante section' that are 15mm and historical. I think I have a plan for almost all of them, although some were a challenge. Wish I'd known about Limbo before though as I have finished off several old projects to make sure I only have primed figures for the challenge. Looking forward to joining in and admiring what others post.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it Adam!
DeleteDante looks wonderful mate. Love the saturated pink!
ReplyDeleteCheers buddy, much appreciated.
DeleteExcellent start and bang on theme.
ReplyDeleteThank you Peter!
DeleteA grand opening of this years Challenge boss! I have just started re-reading The Divine Comedy, but I find it tough going, this figure is softer on the eyes!
ReplyDeleteYou're a grognard Sander! I read about Dante and the Divine Comedy not the actual text (lazy bugger, I know).
