From Millsy - More 40K Catachans (145 points)

Apologies for my rather sporadic appearance over the last few weeks people. Real life has required that I put the brushes aside more often than not which has seen me surrender the lead (and indeed second place as well) to a pair of gents who seem to have no need to sleep.

I'm back now even if only in relatively small terms with an addition to my Warhammer 40K Catachans. This time its the hard fighting men of Bravo Platoon with the (slightly less) trademark blue headwear. Leading the way we have the HQ, chock full of special weapons and including a heavy flamer.

They are backed up by a pair of 10 man squads including melta guns and missile launchers for a bit of extra punch.

Like almost all the miniatures in this army these are Perry sculpts and despite the lack of variety compared to the second edition plastics I absolutely love them. I have jazzed them up a but with extra pouches and holstered pistols here and there, as well as mixing poses carefully so they don't look too samey samey.

I've got one more platoon of the same size to paint and then I'm onto the support weapon squads and a few bits and pieces. I'm quite surprised by how fast these have painted up. All up that's 25 x 28mm miniatures plus a couple of man-packed weapons for a total of 145 points.

  5. Lovely stuff Millsy, but you won't catch up with the DD if you keep submitting *small* entries like these. I'm hoping you are secretly working on a points planet-buster to make things interesting at the very top of the table :)

  9. Thanks folks! Sorry to disappoint Tamsin but I'm cruising to the finish line. I'm working on a commission for a mate which has a deadline so I've not got a lot of free time.

  10. They look very sharp! I am almost inspired to dig mine out, but they have some plastic boys mixed in...and the primer has to age a bit longer! ;)
I Luke the weapon colors too. I have a bunch of mordians to strip so I can lose the bright orange guns! ;)

    1. The plastic Catachans are truly horrible and I won't touch them with a 10' pole. The poses are wooden and the proportions are all over the place. Given the sculptors who worked on them it's quite amazing. I guess we all have our off days...

  11. More fine looking Catachans. Neither of us look like catching Dave, but maybe you can still overtake me sir! :)
