6mm Sci Fi Light "Trucks"
A total of 7 light trucks. Last time I showed any 6mm sci fi I concentrated on heavy trucks. Not everything needs to go on large heavy trucks though. (Although I do know some people who disagree and always think the bigger the better!) So there are 3 closed body light hover trucks. As with most of this project I am staying with Brigade models and these count as German hover trucks (as do all the rest today). As I will not be using Germans for either force they do make very suitable light trucks. Then 3 Light "Pick-up" trucks. Most notable for the open backs which could carry many things and as long as it is not perishable or vulnerable to the hostile climate it really could be anything.
The final truck is an anti aircraft (space craft) truck. There were 14 trucks in the pack so one AA vehicle for each force seems appropriate. I dare say many players will choose to fire it as direct fire against ground targets as well.
As with all this Chinese Democratic Socialist Union force I have painted in a block camouflage pattern and placed them on "Snow" bases to best suit my frozen planet.
15mm WW2 Horch 1A light Truck!
Just a simple 15mm Battlefront German WW2 troop/crew carrier. The driver (I apologise for the poor picture quality) is dressed in late war Oak leaf spring camouflage. While the vehicle would have been painted by the crew to fit local conditions. This vehicle will be used for PBI the Peter Pig game and came in a little mixed bag from eBay. I was only after the 2 Pak 40's and crew and this was included. The Anti tank guns will probably be done next week or the week after. So in effect this vehicle was free. Not wishing to look a gift horse in the mouth I undercoated it and painted it as quickly as possible. It will fit in with the rest of the force no problem but will seldom make the tabletop as in PBI once set up Guns hardly ever need transport. Still it is nice to have.
25mm Sci Fi
Finally I have also painted 2 Kra Vak by GZG. They have been sitting in the lead pile a few years and one day I just felt like it so I started painting them. Being GZG they are 25mm and not 28mm. They are also quite cheap if you need any aliens at £1.50 each. I did start painting these after seeing a vid on U Tube about Rouge Stars. And yes I even sent for the rules and they are due tomorrow. But I am currently thinking of a different force which if we are all lucky will be started BEFORE the painting challenge ends.Anyway I settled on Green (camouflaged) clothing with pouches in a lighter green and black weapons and hair. Being Aliens I could have gone for anything and still felt I ha chosen the correct colours. However the green and the black did go (in my opinion) with the purple skin tone. Mostly when I see these figures painted by others I see either green or Tan leather skin perhaps because their hair is similar to that in the film Predator. But I went Purple as I thought it looked right on the figure but being aliens any colour you choose has to be the correct colour (and /or Pattern).
Well that is my meagre offerings for this week. With luck some WW1 Cavalry next week. All the best Clint
Dear Miles Please Include the date in the title as leaving it out when it was sent in time makes me look bad and I have not complained at all but by doing so you have left me with nothing to put on my blog. If you choose to change the title kindly let me know perhaps with an explanation of the reason. . I realise that last week you were busy with work and do not in any way blame you for leaving my post out and not sending me a private email to inform me of this action of yours when you returned from the business trip . I have carried out your wish to group all submissions for the week to make. I am not asking for an apology I know and understand you were busy. But I feel it needs to be acknowledged that this submission was sent and received (Along with a couple of others) in time for you to post but that real life may have gotten in the way.Kind Regards Clint
MilesR: Nice little submission - it will net you a tidy 32 points:
14 for the 7, 6mm vehicles
8 for the Torch and Driver
10 fro the 2 28mm vehicles
My apologies for missing you last week but I was in a location that had very poor internet and couldn't edit the blog.
