My name is Arthur and I am 7 years old. My dad has this intrigueing hobby called wargaming and I like to play Heroquest and Necromunda with him and this has caused me to paint my own figures.
Two years back I had the honour of meeting the Snowlord in Antwerp and this resulted in me entering the Challenge last year, so off course I wanted to tag along for this year's event as well. I have already entered a Primaris Space Marine some time ago and here are his two friends. Since making up decent English sounding names is difficult for a Dutch 7 year old I have given them callsigns derived from their purpose or pose. So here are Ranger and Shooter.
Ranger:
Shooter:
The 3 of them together.
These two chaps will earn me 10 points if my maths is correct. Curt; a picture of me painting is sure to come along next week!
Wonderful painting Arthur, these two Marines look excellent. I have a soft spot for Space Marines (we go back a loooong way). Your guys remind me of a Space Marine army my friend painted years ago that were a particular shade of greenish blue. He wasn't very happy when we dubbed them 'The Turquoise Death', but he was much happier when he won his next battle with them. Two more victories later and the name stuck. Ahhh nostagia... worth a couple of bonus points each, just for that trip down memory lane. I'm awarding a total of 14 points for this entry.
Excellent work Arthur, I like Space Marines myself and have had many over the years!
ReplyDeleteCheers Fran!
DeleteSmashing stuff, the colours work really well together.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jamie, he made up the scheme all by himself!
DeleteFine Work Arthur
ReplyDeleteThanks Adam!
DeleteWell painted, Arthur :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words Tamsin.
DeleteWell done Arthur!
ReplyDeleteThank you Edwin!
DeleteThose are really great, love the colour scheme
ReplyDeleteWell there's still 8 more to be done Martin ;-)
Delete@Lee: Arthur says thanks so much for the nice story and extra points. He's loving the Challenge so far.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Arthur!
ReplyDeleteCheers Peter
DeleteWonderful work, Arthur! Like I said before, I really like the red eye lenses alongside the turquoise armour. I think you should give these fellows Dutch names as I'm sure it will be the primary language in 38 thousand years. :)
ReplyDeleteLol! Oh he has done that too, there's a marine with a flamer called "vlammie" which means "little flame" and a plasma gunner called "Plassie" which also translates into a little bit of urine... kids eh?
DeleteCànt beat a good Space Marine
ReplyDeleteRight you are sir!
DeleteI can't beliebe you are 7 years old! You are beating many much much older painters here!!!! Congratulations and keep them coming
ReplyDeleteYes he's on his way to getting there. If he really concentrates he gets some very good straight lines.
DeleteLovely looking space marines, nice work!
ReplyDeleteBest Iain
Thanks Iain!
DeleteGreat work Arthur - I especially like Ranger's pose, and your colour scheme works really well.
ReplyDeleteThe poses are really all his choice, so thanks!
DeleteGreat stuff Artur!
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps
DeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteCheers Greg!
DeleteVery nice. Painted figures are so much better than playing with unpainted!
ReplyDeleteToo true Barks, I am toying with the idea of painting a marine in the lads scheme myself to see how it turns out...
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteWell done Arthur!!!! Great painting!!!
