Chasseur Ardennais
Another WW2 project this year is to complete my Belgian light division. In the last ten days I have completed transport, artillery and heavy support elements for them. The figures are a mix of Early War Miniatures range and the old Battlefield/Blitz range. The trucks, Vickers and AT and Artillery are EWM. Markings are hand painted.
Three FN trucks + 2 drivers
Two Vickers tows with light gun and mortar
Alvis Hefty (fully scratch built last year) two crew
6 x 20mm vehicle @ 15 points = 90
2 x 20mm guns @ 10 points = 20
10 x 20mm crews @ 4 points = 40
2 x 20mm 1/2 crew @ 2 points = 4
Total 154 points
Cheers
Matt
TeemuL: And we have a hattrick from Matt today! Another beautiful project. A scratch built vehicle? Vehicles rarely seen? Hand painted markings? Excellent brushwork? Nice backdrops? We are spoilt. I'll round it to 155 points for you.
Edit: 20mm guns are only 8 points, but I added more bonus points for the awesomenesses listed above, so 155 in total.
Top drawer stuff! First of all it's 20mm, second it‘s a rarely seen army and third it’s beautifully painted
ReplyDeleteCheers, I do enjoy painting the less represented armies.
DeleteEnjoyed viewing this post and seeing more unusual WW2 army and vehicles - great stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jez, my scratch build article is on my ww2 blog. https://kampfgruppewillow.blogspot.com/2022/08/belgian-chassuers-alvis-straussler.html
DeleteCool stuff mate. Unique looking trucks!
ReplyDeleteCheers Millsy, wait until you see the tank destroyers!
DeleteLove the tractor, and well done on the scratch-build!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barks, they are quite cute
DeleteImpressive scratch build.
ReplyDeleteThanks Geoff, it was glacial though!
DeleteBlimey! You have been a busy boy this week! Fab work Matt!
ReplyDeleteCheers, great to see desk space, even the overflow is reduced!
DeleteGreat stuff Matt and really set off with the background picture
ReplyDeleteThanks mate, it is a Peco model railway backdrop
DeleteCheers

Love the early war. These are excellent and the scene they create are super. Well done Matt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bruce, I am a big fan of early war kit
DeleteWow, I love your scratch built work, Matt. The wee tractor, crew and gun are rather sweet, if such a word can be used.
ReplyDeleteCheers Curt, yes I am rather fond of them
DeleteAlways good to see rinky dinky wwii toys
ReplyDeleteYes, they have a certain attraction
DeleteThis is fabulous, awesome conversion work and great painting!
ReplyDeleteCheers Sander
DeleteWonderful and balmy vehicle park. Those Vickers tows look very odd, and very uncomfortable to ride on.
ReplyDeleteI suspect t dangerous also, when I looked at one at the museum I was amazed that there is no protection for the driver against engine burn.
DeleteAt the very least you’d get a serious case of numb bum ridding that thing cross country.
DeleteYes a little scary as they would be jerky also, and a little too heavy also I suspect
DeleteExcellent work - I really like the tow and gun with soldiers clambered all over it. It captures the scenes in pictures I have recently discovered - especially how small these early war kit were. I also appreciate your home build skills adding to the range of hardware for your army. good stuff!
ReplyDeleteCheers Norbert
