From SylvainR: C'est la fin!

Ouf, c'est fini!

In 2023, I filled 12 trays with 6mm WW2 miniatures.

In 2024, I filled 11 trays of 6mm WW2 and 3 trays of 28mm D&D figurines.

In 2025, I filled 7 trays of 6mm WW2 and 4 trays of 28mm D&D figurines for 1051 points.

Solemnly blessing the newly painted miniatures...

Thanks are due to Curt and Sarah, wonderful couple and welcoming hosts to the annual Challenge.

Thanks to the Minions, especially to GregB who writes such nice and long comments, and to Miles and PeterD in their essential support roles.

Thanks to the Saturday Crew for being so patient with me.

This year, I ran out of miniatures to paint. The WW2 collection I inherited is mostly painted and I'm almost done with the unfinished projects I could find in the lot. You can see that the number of trays is diminishing every year and there will be even fewer trays of those next year. Now it's mainly a matter of re-basing. I also ran out of primed D&D figurines. Vinyl needs to be carefully primed and it's a step I can only do outside between May and October, when temperature is above +10oC. Then I dug out a bunch of unfinished Tau and got them painted after many years lingering in a box.

It's funny (or not) to think that when the Challenge started Joe Biden was president. Now things are "different" but I will not say the "T" word here.

Thanks for reading and see you next year!

 C'est la fin!

Come on, now Sylvain...it is not wise to type out such things. Purchase more miniatures immediately - it is never too soon to take action...

Another tremendous Challenge - in particular you really dove into some new and different painting effects to try and stretch your skills. Well done!

  4. Oh, I was wondering why you were so quiet, but running out of primed minis, that's sad. :( But still very nice output!

  7. Fabulous work Sylvain. It's hard to believe that you got through all those WWII minis. Wow. I too really liked your weekly French-Canadian perspectives.

  8. Had a blackout about halfway reading through your post, I think after the words “This year”, but I enjoyed both your painting and minion posts, Sylvain! Great job on both!

    1. Mine was at the Joe Biden reference. Oh, nostalgia for when things were reasonably sane...
