Yes, I do have almost as many painted models as those that do lie in the Mountain of Neglect. Above are the poorly painted Goliath gang Jersey Boyz and yes the leader is named "Situation" They spend their downtime pumping iron and slamming Jaeger Bombs while using crude pick up lines at downhive bars. I was so proud of their camouflage and red and flesh tones, but they are rather dated now.
These are the War Dawgs. I only adjusted the flesh-tones on these guys, but they were the last crew I ran in the old Necromundia.
I have improved a little bit...besides not sloshing paint on bases!
I tweaked the fleshtones on the old gang so they wouldn't look outdated with these guys. They were customized with new war-gear scavenged and bought in the game. They were white primer.
The last of the old plastic goliaths in War Dawg colors.
"new" War Dog gangers to represent the promoted Juves.
The fourth Juve now with pigment and a shotgun ganger and heavy with a heavy bolter.
The War Dawgs are now roster accurate with WYSIWYG. They do sub as chaos cultists for cultists leaning towards Khorne Blood-for-the-Blood-God variety.
Now some new Goliaths from the new game. These are the Blue Bloods.
They are a lot larger than the older sculpts and still have the same design cues.
I do like these a lot more, but am still getting used to the rules.
I will be playing them for the first time with my gaming group at Adepticon on the freeplay tables.
Bases were primed in gloss black then painted in acrylic. I used an eraser to chip them up then painted P3 pig iron in the "chip areas" leaving black outlines. Then I weathered the holy heck out of them.
Also introducing the Death Korps of Krieg 215th Jaegers for Kill Team. I have two boxes of them for building all the options and also have plans for them in 40k, inquisimundia, 5150, Stargrave, ....
Sgts, melee, and veteran guardsmen.
Special weapon troopers...a thumper with grenade launcher, flametrooper, plasma gunner and a boltgun.
Plenty of bog standard guard troopers.
Medics on the flanks surrounding the zealot reading from the Tome of Sgt Bromley"...If I can't make you smart, I will make you strong. You will do push-ups till Sgt Bromley is tired of drinking coffee." Also the commo specialist with flares and a map or Opord.
A spotter and a sniper.
My favorite of the Jaegers, an EOD tech with up armored chest plate and a skull on his mask getting ready to use something that probably involves the serious putty.
I really like everything about this model. he is well equipped for his job including wire cutters.
The kit had a loose mine that I absolutely had to make a marker for.
The Hospitaler for Sisters of Battle ready to assume medical duties with an Agent of the Imperium. She is pretty clean and soft spoken, She will be used for a ride in Sarah's Limo service. I am running outta time to get those rides in!
The K-9 is the doggo that was missing from last years challenge he turned up in the necromunda box of all places....Probably was finding contraband that the gangers were using/making/selling. He is a very good boy and hopefully will give me a start on the cold war with 5 points! he is a very good boy!
11 old Skool Goliaths for 55 points with 25 skulls
10 goliaths for 50 points and 23 skulls with fabulous blue hair.
20 jaegers from Krieg for 100 points and 74 skulls
A very nice sister for fixing wounds not making them 5 points
and a very good boy- 5 points
215 points and 132 skulls. new skull tally is 506 noggins.
Friday Minion: Welcome back David! I would congratulate you for the week off, but this was last week's posts and I know you're cooking up another whopper for us.
Great work on this batch, love the comparison between the old school Necromunda Goliaths and the chunky new sculpts. But my true love is those Death Korps of Krieg, nice choice of green overcoats. I had loads of Astra Militarum Imperial Guard back in the day, it's no great surprise I ended up a historical gamer in the end.
You've been a busy boy, Dave!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks , Ray! 90% of my painting time is the AHPC. The rest of the year is more busy and some games! ;)
DeleteLovely stuff, David! Great work on the gangs! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tamsin! It is great having two finished gangs to play with now!
DeleteGreat work, Dave, I love the Death Korps of Krieg guys!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I like them too, I always wanted them. I think it's funny that two boxes of infantry were cheaper than the forge world cav!
DeleteGreat looking models all around Dave. GTL!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dallas! I am looking forward to a slew of skirmish gaming with them all.
DeleteGreat work David. Good luck at the Con
ReplyDeleteThanks, Peter! I won't say I am excited, but my duffle has been packed since February! ;)
DeleteWonderful work David! I really like your Death Korps and the Hospitaler with her pooch.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Curt! The Deth Korps were the only ones with pre planed paint scheme. I went Blue and white on the Hospitlar for purity and France cuz fleur de lis. ;) I am very glad the K9 finally turned up!
DeleteNice Work
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adam!
DeleteGreat work Dave. Those new Death Korps plastics are absolute triumph - I am surprised (but, I guess, not surprised) that GW has not done more with them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Greg! There is a good DKoK force with the new models and this kit for conversions. I am happy with this "small" kill team. They will escort an Inquisitor in the near future though. There is a lot of potential in this kit for conversions and one offs. I could get another just to be sure....
DeleteExcellent David. Enjoy AdeptiCon. I’ll keep a look out for your figures and greet you in person.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bruce! Hit me up via darthbrom@gmail.com I can only stay at Adepticon till Friday afternoon as I have gov work on the weekend.
DeleteLovely updated painting of some classic models
ReplyDeleteThank you, Peter! The War Dawgs were dusty!
