Sunday Traditions (Pancakes!)

Not sure who here does this, but one of the traditions in our family is that we all sit down for a bit breakfast on Sundays. It's a bit coming from my partners culture of Turkey where breakfasts are bit deals ( and dinners really ) and huge spreads of food will be put out for everyone to have.

Now being from Canada, we have incorporated some of that culture into the above mentioned breakfast tradition. In that we include a nice stack of pancakes ( or the odd day of waffles ) alongside the cheeses, breads, eggs, etc that my partner prepares. Which of course needs to be covered in proper traditional Maple Syrup ( Kirklands Brand.. IYKYK ).

Wondering if anyone else here has such traditions, or is also laid back a bit on a Sunday?

Well for those that do rest a bit, we have some great posts to come out today for you to catch up on while having a pancake or 3.

Some Barbarians, some tiny ships, some ancients, and a few ladies looking to reinvent Fast and the Furious are all waiting for you here today.

  1. Looking good, Kyle! We have sometimes brunches, but they are more now and then. Breakfast is usually the same everyday. Porridge, cereals, bread and/or youghurt.

  2. Nice stack of flapjacks. We have multiple jugs of Kirkland maple syrup in our larder, but it ends up on oatmeal far more often than pancakes,

  3. Great tradition Kyle! My Sunday morning routine is two Eggo waffles with Nutella, berries and Cool Whip (or Cool Whip-alike) and the Sunday politics shows. Or Graveyard Carz as they seem to be running Sunday marathons nowadays :-)

  4. I'm having homemade almond cookies at the moment but an occasional stack of pancakes, real maple syrup and bacon is always welcome.

  5. We do cinnamon rolls most Sundays. Very occasionally I do a full English- or at least as clise as I can with US ingredients.

  6. Kirklands FTW! Strong coffee and a bran muffin for me. I'm too bleary to manage much else usually (though we do like going out to Wendy's for their breakfasts from time-to-time.

Hope you're having a great day of it Kyle!

  7. I guess in such cold climate you need a ot of calories even in Sundays, but definitely looks delicious. In spain we are for small breakfast in the morning á la Continental (coffe and toast, sometimes also orange juice) but nothing like a full abgloaxon breakfast
