Thor's Day Hammering

Thor, a hammer, an anvi, a headbanger, there is an underlying theme here... Thor is for Thursday, and he has a hammer. And if there is hammer, you need an anvil - or Anvil, Canadian heavy metal band. And heavy metal means headbangers. Yes, in Finland heavy metal is normal, Radio YLE (equivalent of BBC for example) plays heavy metal on their music programs frequently.

:headbanger:

HEADBANGER

The feeling of banging your head.

In Finland, heavy metal is mainstream. There are more heavy metal bands in Finland per capita than anywhere else.

---End of a Finn talking about Finland---

Let's see if we have any musicals today, or movies about hammers or anvils, maybe a frustrated headbanging against the wall? I guess not, but lots of other movies.
  • PeterD has a movie called Cat People, there are some promising Picts
  • PeterD has a movie about tragic Finn, there are some dancing marines
  • PeterD has a movie about Imperial pretender, there are some fine head gear
  • LeeH has a movie about you-know-what, Sir Robert Brackenbury at his finest
  • ScottC has a black-and-white movie, and some colourful hobbits
  • GeoffreyT has a colourful movie about Gauls in Britain, and some colourful hobbits
  • MikeW probably has a movie about pretty much everything, and more
  • RobP has a Lotr movie, there area some pretty wild riders
  • JezT has a very british war movie, there are some nice policemen
Last week I was in Northern Finland with my son and my sister. There was a proper winter and enough of snow, but the views were a bit blurred... (The next day was clear and the views were amazing!)

    1. Thanks Peter! It wasn't that cold (-10C), but there were strong mists and my son likes to wear that hat all winter regardless of the temperature.

  3. Shivering just by looking at the photo. Here in the south we are weak people, and "glacial" for us is when the temperature falls below 5C. Have a great day

    1. It is not that cold in the photo, but it does look like that and it's too much for some people. :)
