TamsinP's AHPC X Group Shot

It took me a little while to get this set up. As I live alone and can't really ask anyone to break their (and my) self isolation to pop in and take pics, it was a bit awkward to get a shot with me and all my painted stuff.- You'll have to forgive me putting two photos up - one with me blocking half of the miniatures out, and one of the miniatures on their own.

The beast in her lair

Whilst my output has been lower on quantity than in previous years, I think everyone will agree that my overall quality has been much higher. And I still finished in 8th place somehow (OK, being early-retired and having no family distractions helped considerably).

It's been a blast and I hope to see you guys again in December for AHPC XI, if not sooner either in real life (when things clam down and return to normal) or in the Quarantine Challenge.

Toodle-pip!

  1. You're definitely right about quality output, Tamsin, and the quantity's pretty much there, too. Managing that together with minioning and such humour and imagination (your tale to satisfy the Snowlord's Challenge was brilliant) must be very demanding. You might also like to know that my little narratives this time round were very much triggered (for good or ill!) by your scintillant sketches, so thanks for the inspiration.
See you in Quarantine (I believe that's a South American dictatorship nestling between Libertine and Orangina - geography's not my strong point).

  5. What an excellent group shot (and such a nice and neat workspace!) My favourites were your pulp characters - especially the ladies, oh, and those groovy skulls too!

  6. I loved the little desert island with all of the regular challengers represented on it. Your painting never fails to impress.

  8. I read a lot about English ladies, smart and wonderful women with a delicate taste and amazing patience. I am glad that for three months in the mind I saw such a lady at work. thanks a lot!

  9. @ Noel - thank you! My tales inspired yours? OMG! What madness have I unleashed on the world! ;)
ps I understand that the President of Quarantine is Clementine, whose favourite tipple is turpentine ;)

@ Miles - thanks! I look forward to seeing you in London again when this is all over. :)

    @ Martin - cheers! :)

    @ Iain - thanks! :)

@ Curt - cheers! It was nice to focus so much of y tie on the various character figures rather than hordes. Mind you, I even had fun painting the hordes of barbarians and put nearly as much effort into them as the smaller entries. If the poundshop has those skulls again next Halloween I'll pick a set up for you if you like. :)

@ Stuart - thanks! That island was fun to do and I did learn that Vallejo Still Water isn't the best product for that sort of piece. :)

    @ Barks - cheers! :)

@ Alex - thank you! I was happy to see your wonderful work again this year and thank you so much for those Neanderthal figures you sent me. :)

  10. Tamsin you've been as usual the soul of this group. Thanks very much for your assistance as Minion (in-chief?) and a really varied, great and constant output throughout the past three months. We'll see again soon, I guess

  14. What's not to like? All your entries were of the highest possible level and I am envious about your pace of turn-out, it's awesome. See you in the Quarantine Challenge Tamsin!

  15. @ Peter - thanks! It wasn't me that razed the bar though; I suspect it must have been...Ray! Yes, let's blame Ray. ;)
Oh, "raised". Nah, not me - other folk produced much nicer stuff; I just had more time than them to put out more stuff. :)

@ Sander - thanks! I'm "early retired", so I have more time for painting than a lot of folks. :)
