Slambo Bileside’s Nurgle bodyguard - The Guardroom, Mark Backhouse (85 points)

For the Guardroom chamber I wanted to show off a few more of the Realms of Chaos warband figures I’d completed. The entry is going to be a Chaos champion and his bodyguard. This is a completely whimsical Oldhammer nostalgia-fest! I’m trying to use figures from the 1980’s or at least ones with that aesthetic. In the armoury I showed the Tzeentch champion, and here is his arch rival. Slambo was his twin brother. The Skaven plotted mischief by planting warp stone in their cots. The two brothers were both warped by the twisting powers of Chaos, but are now bitter rivals worshipping rival powers.

Slambo is another Heroquest Chaos warrior repaint. I’ve tried to keep him relatively untainted by Chaos mutations for now, but may model a more twisted later version of him if he actually survives a few games. He has been granted a third eye on his helmet...🙈😂

Slambo has gained some wicked followers to aid him in his quest for further power. He found a small pack of starving wolves and fed them on all kinds of disgusting meat to gain their trust. They now serve him loyally. The figures are nasty plastic early 90’s GW wolves, which painted up better than expected and were very quick.

Then he was joined by two Dark Elves. Each was afflicted by a terrible pox. Only by worshipping the dark gods could their severe ailments be cured. The figures are old plastic Regiments figures. I’ve a ton of these still to go at some point. Two crossbow armed warriors is all I rolled though!

Next up, Slambo was joined by Pipsqueek and the Squeekers. Six savage Skaven warrriors with a love of dirt and disease. The fleas they carry bring all kinds of pestilence to the unfortunate they encounter. Again these are old Warhammer Regiments figures with a metal halberd wielding champion for Pipsqueek their leader.

So here is the initial lineup of Slambo and his retinue of loyal guards ready to spread disease around the Chaos wastes. 13 x 28mm figures = 65 points, completing the challenge = +20 points. Grand total =85 points.

I’ve a few more Chaos warband extras for his Tzeentch rival and the warbands of the other factions which doubtless I’ll try to fit into some of the other challenges, but this will do for now!

Cheers

Mark Backhouse
