The best laid plans and all that. I had hoped to get more finished by now. Work and some sort of non-COVID bug have derailed my plans
Finally on the leaderboard with a model of a Phantom class shuttle, an example being seen in the animated TV series Star Wars: Rebels. It's a neat 3D print I obtained on eBay.
It's filament, not resin, so you can see the artifacts of printing. That being said, the parts were very clean and went together well. After priming with trusty rattle-can Chaos Black, I airbrushed Vallejo Grey-Green from the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force paint set. Highlights and shadows were mostly done with the airbrush. I added some details with brush acrylics, and light weathering with powders and pastels.
The model is usable for Star Wars Legion. For scale, the final photo shows the shuttle alongside a couple of Star Wars 3D prints I previously painted (Farmboy Hero and Alliance Princess Commander, sculpted by War Bear Studios).
40mm scale vehicle (25 points) plus Sci Fi (20 points) = 45 points
Great looking shuttlecraft, Dave. The paintjob is very crisp and clean, and the subtle weathering brings the whole vehicle to life.
Very nice looking shuttle here Dave!
ReplyDeleteExcellent addition to your wonderful Star Wars collection, Dave. I always enjoyed seeing this shuttle in use in the 'Star Wars Rebels' animated series.
ReplyDeleteVery nice Dave, not a bad looking print and a good solid paint job. I have not yet commenced my Star Wars ships in 40mm, but not far off, in a galaxy far far away....
ReplyDeleteCheers
Matt
Excellent shuttle, Dave! :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Dave! Hope you have more time in near future and we can see more of your products.
ReplyDeleteCame out very nicely. Should have lots of uses on tabletop too.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Dave. Do you think you'll do a flying base for this thing, or is it more an objective/goal for the table.
ReplyDeleteThat’s a very fine shuttle, Dave! Very useful vehicle and great painting.
ReplyDeleteI do like the Phantom! Small shuttles are very useful for scenarios.
