This is my Curtgeld submission - so hopefully someone who makes it to the Snowlord's Altar wants a Revolutionary War (or thereabouts) officer type. Before the challenge I posted a few options for the Curtgeld on our Facebook page. This is the one that drew a comment - so this is the one that got painted.
I think the figure is probably from Perry miniatures - it was part of a lot I bought from someone on TMP three years ago. He's got fancy clothes and riding boots - most of the colours are consistent with a Continental officer but plenty of people who fought for the crown also wore blue. He might pass for a a few other 18th Century types with the tricorn and all the lace.
He was a bit of a challenge to paint - the right skintone was elusive. There's some nice detail on the sculpt with the buttons and medal.
One 28mm mini for 5 points and 20 points for Curtgeld.
Oh man, Pete, this guy looks fabulous. I think the skintone looks brilliant and you did a cracking job teasing out all the uniform detail with your brush. Great work!
ReplyDeleteA really nice figure, excellently painted. He'll certainly grace any retreating army, as he's clearly pointing the way ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gloriously cheeky fellow! Beautifully painted for a lucky recipient - nice work Pete

Great work! The blue coat is excellent. Also, I learned a new English word today, which doesn't happen all too often. Jaunty thanks!
