From Curt: What I Did During Challenge XVI

Hi All!

Well, the dust has settled on Challenge XVI and I've taken the requisite number of days to unplug, dust off, and take stock.

I knew that with three weeks away on vacation over February and March I had to be realistic about what I could complete.

Of course, me being me, once out of the gate, I became like a deranged racoon on meth, distracted by ALL the things, ALL the time.

Nonetheless, I'm still happy with what I managed to get across the line.

Here are a few things of the few things:

Challenge Trolls

30K Kill Team

A Mischief of Mice for 'Burrows & Badgers'

Villains for 'Devilry Afoot'

Thirty Years War Bohemian Pike and Shotte

Assorted Sci-Fi Scoundrels

Not in the roundup: Banksy's Flower Thrower in Greyscale

Not in the roundup: A Priestly Scholar for Greg

So, another successful Challenge with much hobbying and hanging out with excellent people. What's not to like, right?!

Damn straight. :)

Stay tuned for the nominations for Challengers' Choice along with the poll to vote for your top three submissions.

Thanks for dropping in!

Curt

  1. Wonderful painting all around. The Villains & the grey scale Banksy were my favorites.

  2. As wonderfully an eclectic collection as ever Curt - really loved the opening Trolls (and their names!), the Eagle, and the Devilry Afoot collection in particular.

Thanks for all the fun and see you again in December!

    1. Cheers Paul! Yeah, the trolls had to be done - glad you liked them (especially as they were 'encountered' on your blog). :)

  7. It was a tremendous Challenge for you my friend! I TOTALLY sympathize/recognize the delightfully invoked "meth raccoon" approach to painting projects - but that just makes the accomplishments even better!

Some really great stuff, but I just love that Thirty Years War stuff, and, most of all, the 30k Kill Team! So awesome to see some 28mm 30k bits under your brush!

    1. Thanks dude! As you can see, I had to squeak-in your Optae into my roundup as he's a paid-up member of the Kill Team.

  8. Three away of a three month Challenge is quite a dent in productivity, but you managed to get lots of stuff done. Not that many skulls, squirrels or shakos, but may be next year? :)

    1. Thanks Teemu. Next time I vacation during a Challenge I think I'll try taking some paints and figures with me. My Squirrel-Count wasn't bad, but the shakos and skulls were criminally low. Will endeavour to do better for the next edition!
