Your Friday Minion Will Be Slightly Delayed

A rendition of my plans for today...
Greeting to all Challengers!  I have the honour of serving as your designated minion today and for the Fridays throughout this year's edition of Challenge. I beg your patience while I attempt this work, as there is a spreadsheet involved. I am among the enlightened who recognize such things as witchcraft, and use of them may, in fact, bring on the apocalypse.  My first concern is that I have assured several times it's "easy"...the first dark uttering of any shaman of IT, as far as I'm concerned. So I beg your patience and forgiveness of any initial points errors which, for example, might reduce Millsy's score to "0".

And much as I look forward to my minion tasks, I further regret to inform you there will be a slight delay to some postings today as I am en route back from a lovely holiday in Hawaii. I should be able to finalize several of your posts via the wifi at the 24/7 clown show we in Canada recognize as  "Vancouver Airport", but the rest will be attended to through the afternoon and evening back in my cozy home town of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

It takes a lot to get me to stop painting...but this will do it - sunset over the Pacific Ocean...aloha!
One note - since my ambient temperature is changing from +27 degrees celsius to -23 degrees celsius, any winter-themed entries submitted today will be docked 100% of eligible points...you have been warned...

Thanks folks!

  2. Welcome to Curt's band of Minions/Overlords. I'm sure you'll have no problems with the spreadsheet :)

Hopefully nobody will have submitted any Frostgrave or retreat from Moscow figures today ;)

  3. Thank goodness my Valhallan guard are mostly finished and my other projects haven't arrived yet! ;)
Is it too late to chant " Millsy is a GIMP" ?
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Millsy! ;)

  4. I just noticed, over half (45 of 88) of the participants have already some points!

  5. So easy a GIMP could do it? Good luck with acclimating to the temperature and the spreadsheet.

  6. A fair and just score adjustment to adjust for the emotional pain those winter themed inflict on your delicate Canadian psyche.

As for the spreadsheet, you may rest assured that I have channeled all of my dark financial industry powers into to making the spreadsheet an efficient information sharing platform of doom.

I do hope you were informed of the specific incantations to be chanted while using the spreadsheet. I can't really type the words here as that power should not be openly shared. It's also helpful to consider an animal sacrifice before opening the spreadsheet - purely for precaution.

    1. If he can't find an animal to sacrifice, will crushing a painted Perry figure do as a substitute?

    2. For extra power, I use blood spilled on my hobby knife while cleaning up a Perry casting for painting...with the level of flash involved on their castings, it always creates a healthy number of "knicks" on my fingers...

    3. Sacrifice a Perry figure - whoa that's way overkill. It's just a painting challenge and not like hoping for England to win a world cup or even manage to show up when hosting an international rugby tournament.....

      :)

    4. You don't mess with a Perry fig, there's no coming back from that!

  7. I feel your pain about the weather. Luckily I can console you with the fact that it's bordering on -30 Celsius here. Seems the Russkies are attempting revenge with Siberian winds here in Finland after they lost to us in the Junior Hockey Champs... And sorry about Canada's loss to Finland, but it had to be done :) Hopefully it won't affect my scores too much during the challenge...

    1. Canada had it coming - our squad was overconfident (and a tad smug, a common problem of our hockey establishment), while the Finland team was exceptional! That was a great win in the gold medal game. Laine and company will do very well in the NHL when the time comes...
