From PaulSS: [The Hatchery] Here Chicky Chicky (30pts)

Back to work this week so progress on painting has slackened somewhat. I'm still working on some more units to post, but the only thing completed and ready this past week is my entry for "The Hatchery" in the Chambers of Challenge.

The Hatchery: In this chamber, your model or terrain will need an avian theme, or could depict anything hatching - ideally, out of an egg.

I think that these models from Eureka Miniatures certainly fulfils these criteria.

As well as the chickens there is also a rather nice model of a dog carrying a pail of eggs. The other figure and dog in the set will feature in a future Chambers of Challenge entry.

Although it is part of the French Revolution range, I think this figure set would be suitable over a much broader period of history.

There is a single 28mm figure and I think that an additional 5 points for the additional hound and poultry is probably fair, with the location bonus for a total of 30 points.

28mm Napoleonics Duel Totalizer: 14 mounted, 32 foot

  2. A wonderful vignette Paul. I really like the groundwork you've done. I may have to hunt this one down to add to my 'tabletop scatter' terrain. Well done!

  7. Cool vignette Paul - as others have already noted, these things are great for adding character for the table.

  10. Great little vignette Paul. Love the dog. Also the figure is generic enough t9 be used in many tabletop settings.

    1. Thanks Peter, I think it will see use in many more than just Napoleonic games.

  11. Great work Paul! This could very well be a scene from one of those nineteenth century paintings of serene rural life.
