For those us you in the Antipodes or the UK, this is what winter looks like. I took this yesterday in local park walking back with my wife from coffee at the Art Gallery. We've had a week of mild (-5C) temperatures and fog leading to all the hoar frost, but the weekend brought more typical and much appreciated bright January sun.
Welcome to the Painting Challenge. Here you will find the fabulous, fevered work of miniature painters from around the world. While participants come from every ethnicity, gender, age and nationality, they have three things in common: they love miniatures, they enjoy a supportive community, and they want to set themselves against the Challenge. This site features the current year's event along with the archives of past Painting Challenges. Enjoy your visit and remember to come back soon.

Ahhh, I see you have a heavy Dew point today , Peter. I cannot see the fluffy white stuff here in Michigan yet, because Lake Michigan gave the morning a heavy, fluffy white peasoup of fog! ;)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the fog burns off for you.
DeleteLovely picture Peter (how is the coffee shop at the gallery?). Actually, what we have right now is rime ice, which is different from hoar frost in that it forms in warmer temperatures. Yes, the joys of living in a climate which has a multitude of names and classifications for snow and ice...
ReplyDeleteI knew there were different terms, I just never keep them straight so just lump them all into hoar frost! Coffe was very good, baked goods a little old, walk thought the arboretum and Wascana was wonderful.
DeleteGood to know! It was closed during Covid, but we're keen to try. Agreed on the arboretum - love that spot.
DeleteHmmm, we had some of that white stuff in London back in December. Stuck around for about a week, then "pouff" it was gone.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Monday! :)
