From Ians: 10mm Lord of the Ring armies for Warmaster (1386 points)

Hi I missed last sundays post as had been in ED and was not really able to post anything, so this week i have a couple of weeks worth of figures to post. I have long pondet the question of fighting the Tolkien battles on the table top but the thought of painting so many 28mm figures was just too much. Since buying a 3d printer the idea of using this to print the figures i need was a plan, and looking on the web for the scale of the project i came across a post to this challenge in March 2021 titled a swird day a red day the figure scale was sorted 10mm. I then found a set of rules Warmaster and used the basing system from them. I tend to have two projects or armies on the go at the same time so i am never waiting for paint to dry when i have a spare couple of minutes to paint. So first up is the army of the undead, those ghostly green guys that appear in the return of the king. The figures used were from the Forest Dragon Vampire range. Now you would think these were easy to paint and would be done in no time, thats what i thought but no! They cannot be rushed as the paint has to be completely dry before the next layer is added so if i thought the paint was dry i left it for another day. I had so many repaints for this army. So here are 3 brigades of Infantry each of three regiments with brigadiers.

Each regiment is a standard warmaster three base unit with each base consisting of 12 figures so 36 per regiment. A regiment in line from front. Next up is the cavalry elemnet of the army consisting of 3 12 figure regemints and 3 figure command stand.

The current Undead army Now for some bad guys. Easterlings these figures are from a company called Tajima1 Miniatures and has both a range of miniatures and large amount of scenic materials which has been usefully in base all the figures in this post. The army will consist of three brigades one cavalry and two infantry. The Easterling contigent The final army is again from Mordor and is a small part of the vast number of orcs that I need to paint. The figures and STL files come from the Morghei range of figures. First up 4 units of Orc warriors

As i missed last weeks dealine due to IT issues here are some more orcs. I am doing Orcs in contigents so this is the second Orc element for the army of Mordor. All the Orc figures are from Wargames Atlantic, great figures, the only issue is the size of the wolves which are very large and as such i could only get two figures on a base but that did mean i got two units instead of one. 5 Orc warband units, a mix of spear, sword and halbards.
