From KyleC - Raging Heroines and Trucks.. (205 pts)

Ok.. so was a bit quiet as I am working on something else at the moment... a side side project to things in the works ;) So have slowed down the batch painting.. slightly..

That being said, here are a few takings from the bench currently..

First up is 28 Raging Heroes painted up in a Catachan scheme.. done up for a friend of mine that I have painted many of these in the past ( and have some more to do as well soon ).

Some of the batch painting photos from working on them.. though am switching over to beer bottle caps as model holders as I seem to have collected quite the few of them since purchasing a beer fridge last fathers day ;)

Then I had a few characters that I decided might be worth painting up last weekend as well. First up is a slanneshi daemon princess maybe? All I was asked if I could paint it up in Slanneshi purple colors..

Then we have a Valhallian Female commander.. again color scheme was pre-determined.. but it was quite a lot of fun to paint up..

Then we have 2 commissar females also from Raging Heroes.. really starting to like these models as they are full of character here..

And last up are 3 more vehicles from bolt action..

I painted them up without markings, but weathered them up with some modelmates liquid pigments.. need to go back over the rest of the american vehicles to do the same.. it really does add something to the finished product. But without the markings they can be used for either the Japanese or Americans now..

On the bench are more vehicles as I redo the Japanese tanks here.. as well as work on my epic fail entry... so many projects... so little time...

So a great mixed entry from Kyle. Really like  your slanneshi daemon princess- its a great colour and nicely rendered, - and from that to the trucks - what a hobby!
* EDIT todays minion can't count... points total amended upward from 190  to 205

    1. Seems I am slowing down a bit though considering how Martin is doing ;) But I am having fun painting up these, so that is the key point to take away though :)

  2. I see those young ladies have been observing and copying my style ;)

Nice work on an eclectic submission of figures and vehicles. Lovely work all round, especially the demon princess and commissars :)

    1. Where do you think Raging Heroes got their inspiration Tamsin ;) Most likely big followers of your blog there ;)

    2. Just one more thing...

You might want to add another tag/label to the post - "boobies"

      :D

    1. I really liked them as well.. they were a lot of fun to paint so put a bit more time into them compared to the infantry there..

    1. Thanks Ray.. most of the shading of the purple there was done with washes and inks over a white base.. glad you like it!

  5. Well done for keeping going and getting a nice pile of things done. Great finishes on these and the princess really is the pick of the bunch.

    1. Thanks! I think she stands out due to her colors, which is not as mute as the rest.. but was a lot of fun to paint up!

  6. Love the pneumatic chicks with big guns and the purple princess is a staggering piece of work. I paint loads of figures to a standard I'm proud of. You paint loads of figures to a standard I aspire to. Keep up the work

  7. Nice set of uh "Trucks" - yeah that's it "trucks".

The figures are excellent and yes the actual trucks are impressive as well. Out of curiosity, did the Japanese actually capture many of this model with the AA ring? If so I will be stealing the idea.

    1. Not sure, but the idea of them stealing yankee trucks appealed to me.. and more so now that I just finished painting up a full American force as well ;)

  8. Now Millsy will want to recruit a squad of ladies for his Catachan Guard army - don't give the lad ideas!

    Inspiring stuff!

    2. Erm... I think I might have to hand my credit card to my wife for a couple of weeks before something bad happens.

  9. Picking my jaw up off of the floor. If your friend does not like the female catachans you need to get better friends. The demon stands out to me though stunning!

    1. Thanks. The next ones are not as impressive as it is just more armor to add to the train here.. but will see when they all get completed..

  12. Looks like you've got all the men in your corner Kyle. Give 'em what they want and you'll own them.

Seriously this is all good stuff and very impressive. I love that Slanneshi-those purples are so soft, they're beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got in the works.

    1. Quite a few randoms yet to come, but all armor at the moment.. but if I have all the guys, then I need to change what I am painting! :D

I have some really weird pieces yet to grace the table though.. so this should be very interesting..

  14. During the first Challenge, I queried your Overlord Curt about the lack of female minis being presented, to which he replied in typical Curt fashion "if you want to see women figures painted for the challenge, paint them yourself!". As that is madness, I started the Sarah's Choice Awards.
Your lovely demon princess and the Commissar figures are now entrants for the highly coveted Sarah's Choice Award. (Did I mention that purple and green are my favourite colours?)

ps. Overlord and minions is it possible for you to tag Sarah's Choice?

And thanks to all the miInions, I am enjoying the musical selections and am curious as to what Thursday will bring .....and best of all, i actually get to see Curt during these winter evenings.:)

    3. Wow.. why thank you Sarah! I am very happy to hear that you like them so much! Though I have to say, that if there has been an absence of female figures being painted, then you are in for a treat as I have quite a few more to go yet! And some of those are quite the lookers in their uniforms.. meaning that very few of the scantily clad variety, and of a proper uniform with form and function variety! Keep an eye out for them soon ;)

    4. Just popped back and added the "Sarah's Choice" tag to my pulp/mob wars civvies submissions as there are females in those.
Thanks for the reminder Snowlady :)

    5. Thank you Tamsin, I was contemplating whether to go back thru this years archives or not. I know Millsy has a Sarah's Choice entrant from his VBCW post last week; Margaret Graham accessorized with large gun and a very stylish (purple) skirt.
But right now, our spoiled dogs need to go out for their afternoon constitutional!🐶🐶

  15. Sooooo cool. I better not let my wife see this entry or she'll want to start a Raging Heroines Catachan collection of her own. (She already has an Amazon army for Warhammer Fantasy.) That Slaaneshi demon is wonderfully creepy--looks like something out of a del Toro movie. The commissars are maybe my personal favorites.

    1. Heh. They are lovely though the resin needs a good scrub before painting. Tons of release agent left over when received. Thanks for the comments.

  20. Typically, these miniatures painted like prostitutes, but you managed to paint them as soldiers. and they look great.

  21. Yikes, quite a bit of Sci-Fi in that entry. Those raging heroines are cool, I like the blue haired ladies. I need to get on it, just recovering from a near disaster on my Epic Fail build.

  22. I really like the trucks and the Catachan girls, but 5hat Slannesh princess is tops! Really good work all around!
