Thursday's Minion

Thursday's seem to be coming round at an ever decreasing interval! It feels like just yesterday I was last on deck but a quick glance at the calendar proves I've not been abducted by aliens and lost time after all.

So what have we got for you today? The queue already contains some cracking work from EvanH, Barks and JohnSh so hang onto your brushes and enjoy what's coming later today.

In the mean time I leave you to the lyrical stylings of Aussie 80s hard rock trio Spy vs. Spy. Anyone who's ever seen "The Spys" will know they sweat blood on stage. They're the single loudest band I've ever seen, easily kicking even Ministry and The Oils to the curb for sheer decibels. Amp it up folks and look into the eyes, not anywhere else, look right into those scary starey eyes...

Cheers,
Millsy the Minion

    1. Never seen Motorhead live so I can't say for sure. When I first saw the Spys I was totally deaf in one ear for two days afterwards with the other one just a a weird whistling sound. Seriously thought I had done some permanent damage i.e. tinitis. Never seen stacks that big in a venue that small since. Probably a good thing too :-)

    2. Sadly Motörhead is silent now, but they were pretty loud. In Finland we have quite a strict rules for decibels, it's quite hard to be louder than others, when everyone is at same maximum level.

    3. "This one goes up to 11". There you go Miles, saved you the effort mate.

  2. Decent, but I listen to the other Down Under band to amp up. AC DC! ;) Too many favorite tunes to list, but I even enjoy the more sedate Big Balls. ;)

    1. You mean that band composed almost entirely of Scots and Englishmen? :-)

    2. True, but not too many original members left. Keith Richard is still alive and ACDC has nephews in the lineup!
Yet they are based in your AO and have released at least two Australia only Albums! ;)

  3. This is going to be hard to believe, but the loudest band I've hear live was Heart. And it was at an outdoor venue. Never got to see Motorhead though :(

    1. The last band live I heard was Queensryche, but I do remember a Blue Oyster Cult show in Grand Rapids where the bass would vibrate your beer off the table if you didn't watch it! My ears rang for days after that one! ;)
