Exploring a new room in the Challenge Island vaults, I steped into The Armoury. Unlike previous rooms, this was an easy one for a historical wargamer, as it only required putting one of my Ancient models in play.
However I decided to take this opportunity to do something more attractive visual, finally coming to this command base for my Infamy!Infamy! Roman Auxilia army.
The vignette pools together a horse-mounted general with a Cornicen and a standard bearer, leading the troops to a final clash with a Barbarian warband, may be in a planned offensive attack or in desperate traits after being ambushed in some dark woods of Germania.
The models are from Victrix Early Roman range: the horse-mounted commander from The Generals box and the the other foot models from the Auxilia box (the command sprue). As usual with this manufacturerer, relatively large models (more 30ish mm rather than 28s) with an oustanding level of sculpting.
With this post I will add 40 points to my Challenge scoring:
1 x 28mm mounted @10 points= 10
2 x 28mm foot @ 5 points each = 10
Room bonus = 20 points
Gorgeous looking command stand! Excellent finish and great basing!
