Hoi there,
As a big fan of the Star Wars Universe and a gamer I played a few games of Star Wars Legion at the gaming club me and my father frequent. When my birthday came, my parents gave me the Clone Wars version of the boxed set and I saved the miniatures to paint for the Challenge.
Even though I will not enter any figures in the Studio Theme Round, I do think these are fitting since they are very much taken out of a movie are they not? One of my favourite characters from the game is of course General Grievous and I am very happy with how he turned out.
Grevious would be nowhere without his trusted Droideka Destroyers. Dad helped me put them together but I painted them up myself. That was cool since as reference I used a movie made by the very talented Zorpazorp see for the tutorial below. I tried to imitate his painting precisely and used washes for the first time.
There are far more miniatures from SWLegion in my pile and I will be posting more of them here. My Dad and I have a kind of friendly rivalry concerning these Clone Wars figures. I really like the droids, I actually find them cute, Dad less so. My favourite droid are the "Tactical Droids" i.e. the droid generals and every other episode of Clone Wars sees one of them getting killed by Clones in many varied ways. Dad finds that very amusing, while I find it less so.
These figures will get me started in the lists and net me 25 points which is more then Dad currently has.
Cheers Arthur
(Ed: since Arthur himself isn't able to write in English yet, he told me what to write down for you all. Sander)
Friday Minion - Welcome back to the challenge Arthur! I have just finished watching the Clone Wars series myself, and laughed at your comment on the super tactical droids.
Super work on these droids, I love the dynamic tilt you have on the rolling droidekas, in their classic bronze scheme. and your General Grievous looks superb - great work on those captured lightsabers in particular.
We're counting the chunky Legion figures as 40mm scale, which is well deserved for the hulking Grievous and chunky droidekas. So that's 7 points each and 35 points in total, taking you even more above your Dad.
Are we going to see some B1 battle droids soon?
Great work on these droids Arthur - just what we were looking for,

DeleteWell done Arthur, these are brilliant. I love seeing your posts, your skills are really improving. I especially love General Grievous with the shading you have got on his bone armour. My son is a big Star Wars fan too and we are looking forward to the next series of Mandalorian as you could probably guess.
